When in doubt, ask Bob.

One of the best in the Dresden files. These are my go to books when I’m in between reading others. Can’t BEAT a good Jim Butcher book.🤓

So much fun!

This may be my favorite so far. The wittiness continues. Sue and Butters are my heros!

Dead Beat wins

Jim Butcher hits the ball out of the park in this story.
Zombies, T Rex, Wizards, Fallen Angels, Demons, and Werewolves—you have it all.
It is exciting, well written, and most importantly; believable and lovable characters.
I love Bob, and Buttons, and the crew.
I’m not big on the romance/sex, I find it trite and boring, but it’s not too much and the adventure is good enough for me to forgive it.
James Marsters brings the characters to life.
This book is such an enjoyable escape from reality.
On to the next book!

James

The series has me completely invested. James Masters really makes it so that each character is completely unique. Jim gives so much perfect detail I can really see it in my mind. I feel like at this point I know Harry , I've driven in the Blue Beetle and I feel the rain in Chicago. invested.

Enjoyable if not a little underwhelming

What made the experience of listening to Dead Beat the most enjoyable?

Easily the answer to that question is James Marsters. His performance in these novels is some of the best narration that I have ever heard.

What did you like best about this story?

The early chapters pace and sense of humor.

Which scene was your favorite?

An altercation in a book store.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was. The pace is fast and with James's voice I could have easily done just that.

Any additional comments?

This book does have a rather silly ending. The first half is great the second is okay. I would say this was a middle of the road for Dresden.

Best of the series so far

This one was amazing! Higher stakes than anything before, fantastic battle scenes, hilarious conversations while riding a freaking T. Rex into battle. 5 stars!
