Likeable characters and good story

Relatable characters dealing with and reacting to the start of a zombie outbreak. I liked them and was routing for them. Just regular folks, living life and trying to figure out what the **** is going on around them. No prepper knowledge, no gun collections conveniently within reach, no special ops army friends hanging out with them.
Looking forward to hearing more about this group and will definitely pick up a follow up book if/when available.

Zombies!!!

Not a "Mandie" (contemporary is my jam) book but definitely worth a read. If you like zombies and gore you'll enjoy this one. Beautiful scenery flooded with gruesome images, Tim does a great job of mixing fear with humor and a sprinkle of background information.

Great start for the series.

An excellent start for the series, I can't wait for the rest. Love the characters and story. I don't want to spoil things, but this zombie thriller will keep you wanting more. Great pacing and excellent narration, you'll want to finish it in one sitting

Just When You Thought It Was Safe!

Listening to Dead Apocalypse is hearing my worst ZA fear out loud, stuck on an airplane and people all around you are falling ill and that’s how we meet Ben Chase our reluctant hero, who rises above his pay grade in life when the zombie apocalypse follows him and his best friend Ty to the big island of Hawaii.

If you’ve been following me for any length of time you know I love a good zombie story and I’ve written reviews on several of them, this may lead you to think that there are plenty of decent zombie books out there… you would be wrong! I just refuse to waste my time writing about the plethora of god awful zombie books out there.

Tim Moon's story is a breath of zombie stench free fresh air. I had to sit and cogitate awhile on why I liked this book so much and, other than the awesome narration by Maxwell Zener, who, I think has found his niche, it’s the pacing of the story, every time you breathe a sigh of relief, thinking they’ve escaped imminent danger, they’re unexpectedly thrown right back into the mayhem.

The production quality of this audiobook, which clocks in at just under 4 hours is good, there is one glaring error in chapter 2 where a whole sentence is repeated and of course it’s at the height of an intense scene, hopefully, it will be corrected, but it can’t take away the solid 4 star rating of this little gem.

The book is part of a series, the story wraps up nicely, but you just know this show ain’t over yet and I look forward to the next installment.

Review Dead Apoclypse

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”
This zombie presentation is verbally graphic, not for the squeamish. The narration by Maxwell Zener brings it to life. Each of his characters has a distinct voice avoiding any confusion on who is speaking and his performance makes it an enjoyable listen.

Nothing special.

Was decent enough to get me to listen to the next book, hoping that the story would improve since a lot of series dont start off great but get better as you become more invested in the characters. However, the second book is TERRIBLE. Elementary and not very original. No hope of improvement either. Forget this one and find yourself a book worth the time and money.

Nasally narration

The narrator has such a nasally voice it sounds like he's speaking through a head cold. I found it hard to enjoy Dead Apocalypse due to the narration. In addition, the story line is not very imaginative. It's a pass for me.
