Critic reviews

"There is zombie fiction and then there is crawl-out-of-the-grave-and-drag-you-to-hell zombie fiction. Day by Day Armageddon is hands down the best zombie book I have ever read. Dawn of the Dead meets 28 Days Later doesn't even come close to describing how fantastic this thriller is. It is so real, so terrifying, and so well written that I slept with not one, but two loaded Glocks under my pillow for weeks afterwards. J. L. Bourne is the new king of hardcore zombie action!" (Brad Thor, New York Times #1 best-selling author)

Best Zombie book yet.

Where does Day By Day Armageddon rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've gone through a series of Zombie books including World War Z & Hissers recently. I know I'll be crucified for saying this but, World War Z was a snooze fest for me. Hissers I enjoyed more, but I think I would have enjoyed it much more if I read it in my teens but still appreciated the story tremendously.

What did you like best about this story?

This story was awesome! Written so well you could visualize being there. Exciting and fresh and narrated perfectly. Listened to this with my wife and 2 teen boys during 10 hours of round trip driving (also started into the second book of the series which is even better) and we all loved it, which is surprising because my wife has no use for these type of books.

Got it for $4.95...I almost feel guilty!!!!

What did you love best about Day By Day Armageddon?

Grabbed this book for $4.95 while on sale. I wanted a short read in between the Steampunk books I am reading. What a great surprise!!! I absolutely love the way that this is written like a journal. It gives you a completely different feel to the book compared to other zombie books. Long story short....I got this book to squeeze a short read in between my other books but I am now buying book 2 in this series. Jay Snyder(narrator) did a perfect job of turning the journal into a story.
Cheers

What about Jay Snyder’s performance did you like?

Perfect narrator for this story. He pulled me into the story and kept me going until the end...getting ready to follow him into book #2.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The way this is written in a journal format will make you feel like you are experiencing it with the character. This is now my favorite zombie book.

Awesome zombie series

What made the experience of listening to Day By Day Armageddon the most enjoyable?

I loved the zombie/journal style. Believable characters and exciting action.

What does Jay Snyder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Since this is someone writing in a journal, there is very little conversation. So he didn't have to change his voice often. Strong, believable voice, like the main character would have.

I forgot how good this was.

Any additional comments?

Ok so I originally bought this book a long time ago on iTunes and really liked it but I didn't back up my phone and it got deleted and iTunes doesn't let you re download it( I'll never buy another from iTunes), I seen it come up as the daily deal for a couple bucks and picked it up again, I rarely re listen to a book but since it's been a while I did. What a great zombie book this was, I wish there were more this good. Unfortunately the second book was also lost on iTunes so I'll have to wait until it goes on sale as I recall it being good too.

The best doomsday book I have heard

The journal type narrative of the day by day account of survival allows the listener to feel part of the story. The writer has captured the true survivalist spirit, almost making the book an outline on how to survive guide. This should be made into a movie.

Day by Day - OK

I love the genre so I managed to get through it. pretty good storyline, but the diary like flow was distracting and mono-tone. It also ended two quickly, almost as if the author lost interest halfway through a book.

Well thought out and reminiscent to The Walking Dead and / or Black Summer...

I’d recommend this book to any zombie and apocalypse lovers. This is a first person account with the narrator reading as if he’s writing in his journal. Day By Day Armageddon is well thought out and reminiscent of The Walking Dead and / or Black Summer. I listened to this series in 2013. I recently realized there was another book written in 2016 so I began listening to the series again to flow into the most recent book.
