Sci-fi, Fantasy, Mystery, Adventure, and YA Novels. If it weren't for physics, law enforcement, and my medication, I'd be unstoppable!
This book is very similar to the last in the fact that it is hilarious, well written, well narrated, and just all-around good.
This isn't your typical science fiction novel... It's full of goofy storylines, hilarious situations, and full of twists and turns. However, it's not just standup comedy in the form of a book. Everything seems to fit together quite well and all of the content was not just creative but also well-assembled.
This book is for you if you're looking for a break from the norm and something to just listen to without having to dedicate your every thought to the listen... It's a fun and entertaining audiobook that will leave you waiting for the next.
The narration was top-notch in this book as well. The narrator does an excellent job with the voices and dialogue. You forget that you are listening to a narration (which is the point in my opinion).

Having been left on a cliff-hanger at the end of part one I was pretty excited to get back to the story and I haven't been disappointed.
There is more manic doings and silliness to enjoy and the plot speeds along nicely.
I very much enjoyed the emphasis on Starlet, who is definitely my favourite character.
This is very crude and occasionally gross, which is not normally my kind of thing but I really enjoy these books. They sort of remind me of the english comic sci-fi writer Robert Rankin.
I will definitly keep an eye out for future sci-fi from Marc Richard.
David Dear was perfect again and definitely a narrator I want to hear more of.
My biggest criticism is the same as I had with the first part, because one novel is published in three parts it costs 3 credits in total, and that as enjoyable as they are 3 credits for one book seems excessive.

Absolutely! The narrator did such an awesome job!
I don't think I've ever read anything I can compare this to, it's unique and it is great!

Absolutely! David S. Dear does a fantastic job with the narration that you won't experience with the print version.
Starlet driving 260 mph in a stolen cop car, wearing a stolen cop uniform, singing to "Lying Bit## Baby Killer". "Fu## Yeah!"
David really puts his heart into the story and it shows. All of the character voices are unique, memorable, and entertaining.
Yes, most definitely.
This second book I felt was much better than the first. The first book was a little hard to sit through during the first hour or so but it did pick up fast after that. The first hour of book one consisted of listening to a lot of random people's ramblings. It did tie some of the story together later but it was still hard to listen to.
The story really is kind of a crazy roller coaster ride of political incorrectness and fun. Marc Richard must be from the future because he did accurately predict a Donald Trump win in his book. I will therefore bet money that the next president will be Mel Gibson as Marc Richard predicts.
I would recommend starting with book one if you haven't already done so. The story line would be hard to follow otherwise.
In my previous review I wasn't sure what the 12 year old Ad-Rock in book one had to do with anything. He just rambled about his parents stupid rules and stuff. He finally makes a reappearance in book two and quickly dies...supposedly. Kind of bummed about this as I thought maybe the immature twelve year old might have some profound impact to the story.
The gory factor steps up a notch in book 2 with the aliens/Albanians deeply infiltrating with the human population. Oh and Marc Richard wants everyone to know that he thinks Albanians are really weird.
If you want a crude and crazy roller coaster of a ride audio book where everything is politically incorrect then check out Dave! I enjoyed it.

“Dave! Part 2: D.C.: A Novel from the Future” is a continuation of the first book in what appears to be a series of books in the distant future where Mel Gibson is president and many of the same issues with technology such as poor cell phone reception persists. The book is best described as a blending of “Men In Black” meets “South Park”. The book is written by Marc Richards and wonderfully narrated by David Dear.
If you enjoy zany, wacky, unconventional, silly, storylines that insult nearly everything under the sun, including mutant yogurt cultures and some unique meaning for “getting a bag of chocolate chip cookies” or the phrase “no guts, no glory”; you might like Dave! Part 2. You will have to listen to the book to understand what these phrases refer too.
Let me start with the things I liked about the book. The story line is crazy, over-the-top, and the humor is well thought out and delivered in a way that seems smart; think the Simpsons or Futurama. Mr. Dear did an excellent job of narrating the book along with the its many characters. His voice was clear and his reading pace was timed just right for me. The recording was professionally done and I did not notice any audio artifacts while listening; no pops, clicks, swallows, etc. The book starts right where the first one left off, so if you are reading them one after the other there is no gap; however, this is also a negative as stated below.
Let me cover a few things I did not like about the book. Firstly, the book contains nearly every vulgar word one can imagine, and they are used very frequently. Would the book have been as funny or unique without the use of such language? I think so. Removing these words would greatly shorten the book itself, but I would have enjoyed it more. The gratuitous use of foul language reminds me more of a comedian who cannot come up with a witty joke so the resort to foul language for a laugh. I know this is more a personal preference, and if you are not offended by it, you may enjoy the book. I also found the book did not contain any real introduction or backstory for a person who had not previously read the first book, or even for those who may have had a large gap between reading the books. In a similar way, the book ends without closing all the plot lines; it is clear it is intended to be more a serialized piece.

Yes i have, Davids performance was great once again, he brings the various characters to life and has great comedic timing!
I actually enjoyed this book more than number 1. It seemed more overall story oriented and the story was funny and compelling. Highly recommend!
Have aliens invaded the country and take President Mel Gibson's place? Set in the future, this story tells us about the two loves stumbling along paths that will bring them back together.
""If this were a book, nobody would believe it.""
I just loved this book, just as I did it's predecessor, Dave: the Invaders.
In Dave 2, DC, we follow Eric (and friends) on his journey to overthrow Mel Gibson in the White House and girlfriend, Starlet, in her quest to help pull down the wall. Oh, and we.meet Bella, a very affectionate dog.
Superbly narrated, David S.Deer's fast speaking but lugubrious (!) reading style glissades through high and low tones, effortlessly coating everything with a treacle wave of warm humorous sound, so perfectly suited to the writing, and his often laconic conversational voices are spot on. Not always distinguishable one from another? Doesn't matter in the s!ightest.
Dave 2 is unconventional, irreverently rude, non politically correct, a little bit mad and laugh out loud funny. So many throwaway one liners and.bizarre situations ... If you are easily shocked, do not get this book. But for everyone who enjoys a bit of the.crazy, this is certainly one for you. Highly recommended.
