    "WOW!!"

This was one of the few books I could not put down. I read a few of the reviews and thought I would give it a try. It was great. There was just enough suspense to keep you on the the edge of your seat and also keep you guessing as to what would happen next. I am a big fan of romance novels, especially those that have a great storyline. Some authors get too wrapped up in the sex aspect and forget to actually create a story. Ms.Brigggs did a wonderful job. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next story in this series.

    "Awesome read.."

This series is set in the same world as Mercy Thompson's world. Samuel's brother Charles (Bran's enforcer)and Anna his newfound mate are sent out by Bran to track down a rouge werewolf in the woods and hopefully bond while they are out there. Holter Graham did a great job as the narrator, providing different voices for the characters. I HIGHLY recommend reading Patricia Briggs short story "Alpha and Omega" which you can find in the book "On the Prowl" which is the true beginning of the story,as cry wolf literally picks up right where the short story leaves off. Look for it as an ebook or check your local library. You also won't get a real understanding of Anna without reading it. It really does make Cry Wolf that much better of a read. Patricia Briggs scores again.

I have been happily married for 17 years, I have 3 children (12, 14, & 16), and 2 dogs. I am currently working on a 2nd degree. Life is chaotic and stressful, but I wouldn't change it. I am blessed and enjoying my life.

"Brilliant! Even though it is my second go round."

I read this story the first time back in 2009. I realized that "Alpha and Omega: A Novella from On the Prowl" was a new adventure for the story. Listening to the new novella tempted me to start this series all over again. Sooooo, I am now doing the happy dance because this series makes me happy.
The H and H are strong and good. The adventures are amazing, the action scenes are exciting and the entire story is compelling! PB pulls you into a wonderful world. I am not reviewing the actually book as much as just expressing how pleasing it is to start this series over again. Well I guess it is kind of a review if you realize that I spent money to purchase the books and I am now willing to purchase the audible versions of those same books.
So I am posting this to all of the books in the series, because I will be listening to them for this Christmas season! :)
Yes. This series is worth all of your credits LOL

    "Loved it!"

If you enjoyed the Mercy books, by Patricia Briggs, then you will love Cry Wolf. In this book we get to learn all about charles and his new "omega" mate. Also fun was hearing more about Bran the marrok. Looking forward to the next one.

Always looking for characters who will jump off the page into my imagination. Love richly developed worlds and a dark twist of humor.

    "Pulls you in..."

The story is intriguing, the relationship between the primary characters is engaging and a compelling component of the plot - but NOT the only plot; there's lots of action and suspense here too.

Good world-building, and interesting secondary characters. Definitely worth a listen. (Or more than one!)

"Crying for More from Patricia Briggs"

I enjoyed reading this book. I enjoyed listening to it even more. I especially liked the voice he used for Charles.

I'm hoping that Audible will offer more books by this author soon!

    "Listen to Mercy Thompson first!!!"

This book really did nothing for me the first time I listened to it, and I still don't really think it stands alone very well. Since it's set in the same world as the Mercy Thompson series AND there is a preceding novella which I hadn't read, I didn't have any context for the characters. Anna seemed like a very stereotypical "survivor of abuse" character, which I didn't find very interesting, and if you don't know anything about Charles other than what's in this book, his strong-silent-stoicism isn't very interesting either. It seems like so many popular werewolf books are just an excuse to construct a world in which women are powerless victims who need to be rescued/redeemed by strong, virtuous men.

However, I gave this book another listen after I read the novella and listened to the first couple of Mercy Thompson books. After having more context for the characters and their actions, I did enjoy this book and the sequel a lot more. So I'd recommend these books for people in Mercy-withdrawal, but in my opinion they're not a good entry into Briggs's larger body of work.

    "Mmmmmmm..... a lovely listen"

I love Mercy Thompson series and this follows on and I was not disappointed. I couldn't stop listening to it, good wolf-shifter romance story with interesting characters and an evil witch.

I was a bit lost in the beginning and noticed another reviewer mentioned Alpha and Omega in the book On The Prowl which, no doubt, would have helped a lot but it's not available on Audible and it's by no means absolutely necessary as the storyline is soon picked up.

Worth the credit? I've downloaded all available - so what do you think.

PNR is my prefered genre, but I also enjoy any lighthearted, funny, steamy stories. Listening to books helps me to do mindless housework.

    Story
"Another great series from Ms. Briggs"
Would you listen to Cry Wolf again? Why?

Oh yes definatly, the story was very well written. Although I'm not well educated on wolf behavior, the author very much writes as if she is which gives the story alot of credibility. Anna is a victim of abuse, this is the second story I've read from Ms. Briggs on this topic and once again she's very effective in conveying the feelings of the victim. There's alot going on in the book, so a second listen would be well worth the time to pick up on everything that's going on.

What other book might you compare Cry Wolf to and why?

I'd really hate to compare Ms. Briggs books to any other with warewolves since IMHO her's are the best. So the only other books I can compare this to would be her Mercy Thompson series, esp. since there are some cross over charaters. Although Ms. Briggs books are of a serious nature, my other favorite author is Molly Harper.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Justin gets what he's got coming to him and Anna discovers her value.

    Any additional comments?

For me Ms. Briggs books can be a bit confusing because she jumps perspective frequently so sometimes it can be challanging to know from who's perspective she's writing, so just a heads up about that.

"I've read all Mercy Tompson so I thought I'd try.."

So glad I got this. First the Narrator Holter Graham is fantastic. There are some subtle hints of Mercy and Adam which brings the story together. I'm sure as this series goes forward there may even be more interaction. If you are a fan of Patricia Briggs, as I am give this one a go.
