Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Filler novel

This book contains important tidbits for certain characters but has the feel of a filler. Not a lot happens in it. Every continues what they were doing. I originally read the book a few years ago and am praising the audiobook version because it's a hard read, too stale at points. Plot could've been split into the last and next book

Tedious; Perrin as an uxorious teenager

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, because for fans of WOT, it has crucial elements in the storyline necessary to understand the whole series.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

almost did not make it

Did Kate Reading and Michael Kramer do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

yes

Could you see Crossroads of Twilight being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

Any additional comments?

The Rand Nynaeve cleansing of the taint was less of a denouement than I would anticipate. The Aes Sedai all felt it but nary a reaction from the Balck Tower.

pronounced

it would sound better if the voice actors/readers pronounced names the same way. it was very frustrating listening to a pronunciation that wasn't the same

Why do some dislike this book?

I went into this book thinking that I would not like it. After reading some of the reviews, I was worried that it would be boring and miserable. Now that I've completed it, I think those people don't know what they're talking about. I loved this book! It kept my interest, and now that I've come to love the characters I wanted to know what was going on and their various parts of the world. The author, has weaved quite a tapestry of the story. The threads are varied and far flung. That does not make the tapestry any less beautiful.

Worst book so far of series

I felt like I had to force myself to finish this one. There didn’t feel like there wasn’t any exciting moments that kept you locked in like the other books were able to do for me. Overall not bad, but least favorite so far of series.

good book but a little slow

I enjoyed the book my only major complaint was the Audi changed during one or more or the end chapters. sounded like their microphone broke and they bought a cheap one to replace it.
