Publisher's summary

”We're not pickin' the fight. The government already did that. We'd just be finally fightin' back for a change.” - Phillip Brown

Many Americans share that sentiment, after the federal government nationalized all supply chains and property, following the collapse of the dollar. But they're waiting for the right person to lead the charge.

He doesn't want to be, but reclusive mountain man Mike Williams is that person. Though his radio broadcasts advocating for liberty are followed by everyone, he refuses countless requests to help fight back. A family fleeing for their lives over eating from their own garden starts to change his mind. But it's not until the government's brutality hits too close to home that Mike is provoked into leaving his mountain. Rifle in hand, he's ready to reach out and hit back.

Great read

This one went fast. Cooper's take on a financial collapse and the societal impacts is in ways similar to many in the genre but he puts forth some unique perspectives on the local social impacts, military dogma and the inevitability of escalation. The protagonist is reluctant, the state resistant to relinquish any power and the military predictable. Cooper lays out a chain of events that is not at all implausible.

Some books like this become how to manuals for preparedness; this is one that encourages one to not lose sight of the bigger picture. Heavily laced with Libertarian and classical liberal thinking I will be recommending this to a few friends that cannot imagine life without the false solace of the state.

Not what I expected

I wasn't expecting a story like this, I was expecting some facts & not a storyline. This was more entertainment then getting the truth through. This was not for me, but maybe someone else.
