Publisher's summary

Harry Dresden lives!

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness.

After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long. And now, her word is his command, no matter what she wants him to do, no matter where she wants him to go, and no matter who she wants him to kill. Guess which one Mab wants first?

Of course, it won’t be an ordinary, everyday assassination. Mab wants her newest minion to pull off the impossible: kill an immortal. No problem there, right? And to make matters worse, there exists a growing threat to an unfathomable source of magic that could land Harry in the sort of trouble that will make death look like a holiday.

Beset by enemies new and old, Harry must gather his friends and allies, prevent the annihilation of countless innocents, and find a way out of his eternal subservience before his newfound powers claim the only thing he has left to call his own… his soul.

CRACK, CRACK, CRACK!!!!!

If you could sum up Cold Days in three words, what would they be?

Fast,Intense, perfect

What other book might you compare Cold Days to and why?

None Ive ever read, any suggestions would be great though. These books were like Crack every one makes you die a little bit more for the next, and this being 14 books in now I'm jonsing for the 15. I never want this series to end . I've now made this my number one re- listened to series, replacing another series with a different wiz named Harry.

What about James Marsters’s performance did you like?

The way he really makes you feel the way Dresden is feeling. Despair, cocky, or the funniest guy in the room, all i can say is listen to Harry, in the hospital chapel after Micheal's incident on the island, and tell me anyone could speak better for Harry.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

You will be rocked !!!

Any additional comments?

I can't say enough about these books, so i won't say anymore .....

Nail biting from the start

Loved it! It's another fantastic bit of writing and a first rate audible production. The Dresden file is such a wonderful escape that takes me away from the seriousness of my work; there's such vivid imagination, creativity, humor, romance, politics, history, science and intrigue. I read and listen to the entire book series a couple of times a year.

Back from Shot Dead and Still All-In to Save Us

What did you love best about Cold Days?

Harry can't help being heroic and the 14th tale has him caught in character-ripping internal conflicts at the same time he has to fight external horrors without even a shield bracelet and blasting rod. Well that's what you get for sucking up to Maab and beating up Santa.
James Marster's narration needs a new word between compelling and propelling...whatever you call it, it's a 5-star E-ticket ride.
Best part was the team of Murphy & Harry attacking the Barge on Lake Michigan on the Tiger HarleyDavidson: that I want to see in the movie. Serious amounts of Mexican Wobble-weed must have gone into structuring that battle.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Toot-toot was bad to the bone and I wish we had gotten Molly more centrally involved..

What about James Marsters’s performance did you like?

Yarn beautifully spun. Skill of the performance added drama and suspense w/o distraction.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Hated that Harry and Murphy stayed 'friends' but the real heros never get the girl, especially if they're from Chicago.

Any additional comments?

The long time waited while this was being crafted justified the wait. Bravo

Bring Tissues

It's amazing how Jim Butcher is able to write a book that so neatly wraps up but also leaves you wanting more.

And the legend continues

James Marsters and Jim Butcher are the best pairing ever! A prodigiously (see what I did there?😉) penned series performed by a supernaturally (😉) adept actor.

Marsters makes this story come Alive!

Loved it. Unpredictable, exciting, edgy...keeps you on the edge of your seat. Wished I were on vacation so I could listen without interruption. The end is a surprise, but a good one. Enjoy!
