Publisher's summary

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, "normal" is a bit of a stretch for Dina.

And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night....Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive, ex-military, new neighbor, Sean Evans - an alpha-strain werewolf - and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. But the enemy she’s facing is unlike anything she’s ever encountered before. It’s smart, vicious, and lethal, and putting herself between this creature and her neighbors might just cost her everything.

Great series beginning

Would you consider the audio edition of Clean Sweep to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Didn't have a favorite one. I liked all of them - except the bad guys, of course.

Any additional comments?

This was an easy listen with a new take on innkeepers, vampires and werewolves, plus a few other creatures and worlds. The narrator did a terrific job and added a lot to the story. Could have wished for a little more romance, but who knows what will happen as the series continues.

Issues with performance

I loved the story but almost gave up listening to it because of the performance. I don't know why the voice irritated me but I actually got angry listening to it, but I worked past it, and now I cannot imagine Dina having a different voice.

Nicer twist to a well known genre

in the beginning I had a hard time listening to the narrator and her accent. it did grow on me as a listen to the story and I continued to do so because it was a captivating well written storyline. I like the twist of Otherworld /off world habitation of what we know as vampires werewolves and witches.

Different take on paranormal/alien. Dragged on in parts but mostly kept my interest. Narration was OK

Great Story

I found this series after finishing the Kate Danels books by Illon a Andrews. After reading a few reviews I was concerned the series was a lost cause. However once I listened to this book I instantly fell in love with the world and the main character. Renee Raudman does an excellent job in showing emotion in each character she portraies. She does not sound slow or old. Being as I actually live in Texas, she does a fine job. I recommend this book to anyone that has the ability to open a vast imagination to endless possibilities. The next book is even better! Give it a try.

Solid first book to a good series

I thoroughly enjoyed this unique take on an innkeeper. The performance by Renee Rodman was good, but if you listen in a loud environment like me, it is a little too soft spoken at times to be understood easily. Overall this is a great book.

Great Story. So So Narration

The narrator does a pretty good job except when she gets Arland's voice mixed up with Caldenia's
Also Dina sounds very small town and undereducated which considering she has traveled the galaxy and interacted with countless different alien species seems inappropriate.

The story itself is unique and imaginative. An Inn magically connected to other worlds and catering to every imaginable species is bound to be an interesting series. And it is. Throw in a couple of hunks to fight alongside and woo the pretty, magical, young Innkeeper and you have the recipe for excitement and romance.
