After years as a court magician and inter-dimensional hero, Skeeve needed a rest. So he took some time off to study magic and relax. When a few months later several members of the M.Y.T.H. Inc. Team each ask him to train some talented, young magicians in "practical magic" he has to agree. But after the assassins attack and a manticore tries to eat them, the Khlad mage soon discovers that there is more going on than learning. His students are preparing for a very deadly magical game and you won't believe where. Worse yet, the game may be fixed, and the only way to save his students lives is for Skeeve to risk his own.

Skeeve reluctantly takes on six apprentices. Skeeve continues to have integrity, and he tries to instill this in his students. Of course class does not always go smoothly, and they get into one humorous predicament after another. The six apprentices learn to work together, and this proves to be their greatest newly acquired skill. The narrator is spot on once again.
Crazy hijinks, fast action, LOL moments and a host of old and new characters. This story was very true to the MYTH universe from beginning to the end. The first two collaborations felt padded and lost pacing at those points. Sit back and enjoy the fun.
Listen close when the group of students answer a question (or sing) all at the same time. The voice acting and sound engineering produce some of the most unexpected hilarious moments.
I listen to most of my books in the car. Going to or from somewhere. Some books, (like this one !) make me pull it up on my computer so I don't miss out on the action. These types of books are treasures that will let you lose yourself in the author's universe.
