Good Story

I read this when it first came out. I liked it then, not great, but good. Listening to this confirms my original thoughts. Not the best book in the Aldenata Universe but good. I would have preferred a female narrator but the person doing it was fine. Good book, entertaining and worth the credit.

really notched up the steam

I have been enjoying this series and probably should have been forewarned by the cover picture on the book but buxom women are a staple of SF covers. In this case however the transition to Cally from her father is also a transition to significantly more adult material than was present in the prior books, the next has more of the same so I have given up on the series.

worst story of the series

too slow & what was the point? a tortured love story ? this could have been a chapter instead of an entire book.

what a disappointment!

utterly and completely disgusted with this book you took a likeable 12 year old kid and slammed her forward 60 years and turned her into a street whore assassin. great thanks a lot.

I struggle for words to convey my deep disappointment in this book. It's like you decided to write trash romance or soft porn and trade off your earlier series good reviews. I wish I could get a refund. I love many of your series but John you took this one completely in the wrong direction in my opinion.

Same as the vampire trashy sex books

Would you try another book from John Ringo and/or Marc Vietor?

If Mr. Ringo gets back to original ideas and good drama I might. This book was just one sex and violence scene after another. He seems to have taken the trashy vampire genera and put it into a scifi book. Really boring!

Has Cally's War turned you off from other books in this genre?

I would think carefully before trying another one of his books.

What about Marc Vietor’s performance did you like?

He is a decent narrator and does really well with certain characters.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disgust and boredom. How much rape, murder and gratuitous sex need to be in a book? I like a good story that can stand by itself.

do not bother

Terrible storyline unless you are a fan of mixing Sci-fi with smutty romance novels. Don't believe what you read able this novel not being heavy in sex, because it is. Save the money and skip this one. It doesn't really even advance the Aldenta story any.

I don’t like the Pornography

This story doesn’t need pornography. Please don’t listen. It took me so long to make my way through this story

I dont know what to say......

Would you try another book from John Ringo and/or Marc Vietor?

Yes but I am wondering why

Would you ever listen to anything by John Ringo again?

Yes, some of his series are well written, have a good story line and are intersting

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

He tried his best but couldn't pull it off. A crappy story is a crappy story and Marc Vietor is an excellent story teller but even he couldn't bring life to this one,

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disbelief, disappointment, irritation, But I listen to the entire book even though an several occasions I was think why am I wasting my time

not part the series.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I have been enjoying this series up to now. I feel I have been betrayed by author. I didn't sign up this. I am totally offended by her sex life. This is not the book I nor my teens to read on.

SciFi Military action became a romance novel

Not sure how or why the daughter of the commander of the ACS wound up only being able to use her “feminine wiles” to succeed at espionage, but what was a promising and richly detailed military sci-fi action series devoted this book to that same level of detail for nail polish, pool games, and intimate moments between the characters. More a sci fi romance novel than anything else. Should’ve stopped with the last one.
