Publisher's summary

Ever since she discovered that she's pregnant, Elena Michaels has been on edge. After all, she's never heard of another living female werewolf, let alone one who's given birth. But thankfully, her expertise is needed to retrieve a stolen letter allegedly written by Jack the Ripper. As a distraction, the job seems simple enough---only the letter contains a portal to Victorian London's underworld, which Elena inadvertently triggers, unleashing a vicious killer and a pair of zombie thugs. Now Elena must find a way to seal the portal before the unwelcome visitors get what they're looking for---which, for some unknown reason, is Elena.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Horrible narration

I love this series, and I loved this book. That said, I must warn the avid audio book fan that they should stop now and not waste a credit. Listen to the preview; it's awful. I tried listening to this and I lasted about 10 minutes before going to the book store and buying it in paperback. So, continue with the series, but don't torment yourself with the flat reading.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

The end of this book is everything! I am smiling from ear to eat right now. This book is filled with action packed situations and keeps you on your toes from the beginning. I was excited to get a little Clay & Elena time again but I'll be honest I was not happy that this book was narrated by Laurel Merlington. She is Paige not Elena in my head!

Great story..bad narrator

The story is very good and well written. However, the narrator leaves something to be desired. Clayton doesn't sound southern at all. Jeremy sounds old and dull instead of intelligent but reserved. The 4 stars are for the wonderful story, sadly I would give the narrator a 2.

Narrators Matter

I love listening to series. The only thing that makes it trying is narrators changing or even staying the same when they should change. By this book it was clear, Aasne Vigesaa is Elena and even the best Clay. Nell Canning is Aunt Ruth, and Laural Merlington is Paige Winterbourne. She just sounds too "wholesome" to give me the feeling I get from Elena.

Other than that, the story is excellent. Love the wolves!!

Broken Series

I miss the wolfpack. I miss the action. I miss the change and the hunt. Yet another disappointing book in the story of the wolves. What a sad turn of such wonderful characters from the first novel, "Bitten". It all began with the introduction of too many Supernaturals in "Stolen". There is even less wolf action in this book, the story takes you on a wild goose chase but with no real satisfying results, a lot of boring dialogue and yet more boring supernatural characters I do not care about. I was hoping the wolves would be running around in Victorian England, but alas no, they are mostly in Toronto. In addition, the main characters are no longer real, just more one liners and more sarcasm. I miss the wolf behaviors and the feeling the first book gave you, of wildness, nature and love, bonding and gore! The narrator doesn't help as all the voices sound the same and Elena sounds like a younger Bea Arthur from the 50's. I suppose I will read Frozen to see what happens to Elena and Clay, but I won't have high expectations.

Bad Guys Escaped Too Often

It really got old after a while & it reduced big bad scary werewolves to incompetents. I like Elena, Clay & company a lot, but Idk if I’ll continue the series. I’ve been reading KA’s Rockton series also & she does this same thing there too. It must be her thing & I don’t like that thing!

Good story, bad narrator

While not the strongest of the Otherworld stories, it's still a good story. The narrator was a bad choice. Elena sounds like she's in her fifties and Clay like he's in the 70s. It's so bad that when Clay and Elena are discussing her pregnancy, the whole scenario is unbelievable. This is an audiobook that only die-hard fans can love.

a great listen

I almost didn't buy this book, because of the about the narrator. I'm happy to say, that I thought this narrator did pretty well. She didn't quite have clays southern accent, but every single character had a different voice, and she did the British accents really well. This is a very good story, I love clay and Elena so much, that it's great to visit them again. I have heard truly awful narrators before, and this narrator did a very good job. Please, don't listen to other people's awful reviews. It's really not that bad and I really enjoyed this book.
