My Favorite League Book

If you could sum up Born of Silence in three words, what would they be?

First let me applaud Sherrilyn Kenyon and Holter Graham on another great audio book. The story is heart wrenching at times I found myself wiping my tears away. Holter Graham is so enjoyable to listen to...one of my favorite narrators. So many life lessons in this book 'You can't change the past nor the future but you can make a difference today'. The book does include many characters from the prior books so I reccomend starting with book 1 if you are new to the series. The book is very long but I finished it very quickly...I could not stop listening to it. The love story is amazing. The cruelty Darling faced throughout his life is unimaginable however he remains a man of great character. This audio book is definitely a must hear.

What other book might you compare Born of Silence to and why?

Born of silence has the feel of books by Lara Adrian, J.R. Ward and Pamela Palmer as far as the alpha males who stick together. Also has the strong woman who stands by her man no matter what.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to list. I loved all the one liners though.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both...at times I found myself crying and then laughing at some of the funny one liners.

I was a bit confused at first. The book did not start off how they normally start. However once we got to know the characters and understand where she was going the books are at the flow very nicely. I love seeing the badass Centinela come together and work their magic

This is one of my favorite books out of my favorite series. I have read this book countless times.

One of my favorite of the series

Omg! This book makes you laugh, cry and has action. It shows that love (friendship, lover, and family) can conquer anything. Thank you Sherrilyn for another beautiful story.

Great collection

I am so hooked on this series. We Need book 4 and 13 to be added to the league collection.

A Whole New Level of Wow!

This is only my second book in this series. I jumped in to Born of Shadows because of Holter Graham, and loved it. But this book! This book was incredible. I don't believe in spoilers so I won't have much to say other than I lost a few nights sleep laying in bed watching this amazing movie in my head. Sherrilyn Kenyon is brilliant, and I'm going to start with the first book as soon as I finish the 6th.

Where does Born of Silence rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

of the 200 or so books I've listened to, this one is about number 3. I want to listen again, I'm glad I purchased it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Zarya Starska - a powerful female lead, who has common sense, personal strength and is not fooled by initial appearances. She questions the status quo and sticks by her man no-matter-what.

Which character – as performed by Holter Graham – was your favorite?

Maris Sulle. Holter reads him as a gay man...but still a man. Maris is lovable, attractive, physically powerful, and self-confident, regardless of his surroundings. Maris seemed very real to me.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! I did listen in one sitting; earphones while laying in bed, speakers while driving to work!

Any additional comments?

Sherrilyn Kenyon writes with wisdom and insight. She seems to understand human pain, both physical and emotional. I can't wait for 'whatever' comes next!

There is something missing.

Would you consider the audio edition of Born of Silence to be better than the print version?

I consider them both great. There are times I like to cross stitch and I don't want to watch TV so I put in my IPod and listen to a talking book. My problem with the audible version of Born of Silence is that the Prologe is missing in totality. I have downloaded it twice and it is missing. I love this book, but would have really enjoyed hearing the very first part.

Wonderful restart of the series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Great series! Make sure you start at the first one Born of Night. Sherrilyn Kenyon has created a world that is believable and wonderful. She creates an interesting group of characters and places them in intense situations. I have read all of her books and would recommend them to others. Changing the fact that Darling was not gay was totally covered and workable. Catching up on the lives of previous characters is great and adds to the fun.Keep up the great stories.

Narration was good and pleasing to the ear. A few pronunciation difficulties but acceptable. Nice mellow tones and inflections.
