OMG you've got to try this serives

If you could sum up Blood Wager in three words, what would they be?

Journey of self-discovery

What did you like best about this story?

Lissa, she's smart, resourceful and doesn't give up even when her situation gets challenging. She discovers a lot about herself during the book so we get to see lots of character growth.

Which character – as performed by Traci Odom – was your favorite?

Lissa's my favorite character hands down, but Traci Odom does a fabulous job of the narration for all the characters. Traci is one of my top 5 favorite narrators and she shows why during this series of 10 books where the narration is consistent across the all the books.

Any additional comments?

There is a cliffhanger at the end of this book which left me immediately buying the next book, I needed to know what happened next.
I've listened to the whole series now and this book more than 10 times, to say I liked it is a major understatement.

This book is an excellent start to a fabulous series, you won't notice for a while but this book contains information that will tie in with info from later books until it all comes together in the second half of the series. Their so well worked in that you don't even notice it the first time, it was only when I re-listened to the whole series that I noticed just how much set-up was included in the early books.

Disappointed......... it ended. I want more.

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Wager to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Wager?

I liked the whole book.

What about Traci Odom’s performance did you like?

I did like Traci's performance. I always like when the narrator uses different voices, it makes it seem more like a play than just reading a book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did cry in one part. I don't remember which one, but it was touching. I also laughed a lot. The main character is down to earth and though she finds herself in a horrible situation, tries to make the best of it.

Any additional comments?

I was so disappointed when it ended, I wanted more and I guess that is what makes it a good listen, it leaves you wanting more.

Excelente!

Would you listen to Blood Wager again? Why?

I did listened to it once more. Why? I knew I missed some details. I was distracted, because I was driving.

What did you like best about this story?

What I liked the best was her maturity. She was made into a vampire at an old age and you can feel her maturity. I really enjoyed that. There were times that I wanted to hit her, but realized that I would be freaking out too... hehe. Sometimes I felt she was "too perfect" and that annoyed me a little. I truly enjoyed this book and I am a bit sadden that the rest of the series is not available (yet).

What does Traci Odom bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I am not sure. I really liked her. She is not my favorite, sorry, however, she was great and I can appreciate a narrator that adds to the story instead of... well, you know. Thank you, Tracy!

Any additional comments?

Ok, when I am looking for a new book I read reviews, so, here it goes: 1. There are no sex scenes in this audiobook. There is some flirting, but no sex. I didn't miss it. I enjoyed it. 2. She is mature and rational-logical. 3. Sometimes you want to hit the male lead with a brick (don't worry he is a vampire). 4. It's about 24 chapters long 5. It's a sequel, but the rest of the series it's already out. However, It's only available in kindle (grumble). 6. You can listen to the preview and check out the narrator. She is good and not annoying. 7. Sometimes the dialogue can get confusing, but it's mostly in a 1st person for the protagonist and 3rd person when you get a little snippets of the other character's thoughts. Ok! I hope this helps. I am really looking forward the other books... come on Audible!!!! Sorry about any misspelling! :D Thank you! Best regards,--

What a terrific story line!

Excellent and clever story and I could not put it down. Older woman who loses her husband gets illegally turned into a vampire as a major surprise to the mostly male vampire community. She has to find out what she while using her wits to survive. Very surprising story line with many characters including a few werewolves for good measure - the plot has a number of intriguing turns that are not too hard to follow and totally worth a listen. I got hooked on a whim and ended reading everything Connie has written. I am now an officially addicted fan! The reader is quite good and keeps you involved in the story.

Awesome book....narrator STINKS!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Traci Odom?

Susan Erickson

Any additional comments?

I really liked the story. It moves quickly and it's interesting but I had a hard time getting through it because of the reader. The accents are HORRENDOUS and some of the voices just made me cringe. Apparently no one else felt this way but I would definitely read the next book in the series but there is no way I will listen to it unless there is another reader.

AMAZING FIND!

This book was an awesome story! I didn't know what to expect. Sad part is that they don't have the rest of the series yet. Hopefully they will there are 9 other books. I would love to hear them all. Anyway it was wonderful. I don't want to ruin it but it defiantly worth the credit. And the time GREAT READ/Listen!!! Awesome Author and Narrator

decent first book of the series.

This is the first time listening to this author and she did a decent job. I liked the book it wasn't one of those books where your like omg this is the best book ever but if your looking for a series in between your favorite authors this one will do....so far. The narrator did a good job and i was able to pay attention to the story. The only thing I didn't really care for was the wording but i guess it was appropriate for the story. Necking? I'm old enough to know what it means but it may be confusing for a younger audience.

A compelling read!

This was a great read/listen. Lissa Beth Workman is a dumpy, sobbing drunk in a local bar when two vampire walk in and take an interest. They make a wager and proceed to turn her just so they can time the turn. Then they planned to make her dead dead.

What happens next makes for one action packed adventure that takes place all over the supernatural world.

Could. Not. Put. It. Down.

Don't miss this one. Can't wait for more.
