Best opening line ever!!

“The building was on fire and it wasn’t my fault.” Jim Butcher’s words, but I wish I’d thought of them first!!

This installment really brought it!

I've been enjoying this series thus far, but this installment really brought it! The porn star murder mystery had barrel-of-laughs written all over it, doubly so with Harry Dresden on the case. BLOOD RITES put a lot of the characters' roles into perspective; Murphy tries being a vigilante on for size, Ebenezar is not what he seems, and Thomas—I did NOT see that one coming. This book was a turning point for THE DRESDEN FILES, and... PUPPIES!

Some good twists

It's hard to write a series this long that doesn't get tired. This one had some moments when I thought the writer was yawning, and then he picked it up, dusted it off, and took a couple of twists I didn't expect.
IT's good fluff. It;s like eating an apple. IT's got a nice crunch, not a great deal of substance, but very tasty naless.I would say it's a honey crisp apple.

Best Dresden book yet!

In my opinion, this is probably Butcher's best Dresden story. The combination of having both White and Black Vampire Courts in the book was cool. Plus, we get a lot more background information about Harry. I like when Butcher moves Harry's character along and we learn more about him and his past. Plus, he throws some great twists in which make this a great read.

James Marsters performance of this book was still not great, but, it was better than the last book. Maybe he's growing on me. Much better work this time around.

always a pleasure

second time round, first time listening. Marsters is Harry Dresden, the performance since book 3 is spot on, and the passion he has for the stories us wonderful.
