how does he survive?
this is my second or third run through the Dresden series, so evidently I like it enough to re-listen to them. what strikes me is that he is so judgmental about how people live their lives, despite being on the fringes of 'acceptable ' himself. his mentor didn't tell him everything so he'll never trust him. that is just childish. parents often tell their children to do things they don't do. 'don't smoke' even if I do. He doesn't approve of Thomas's feeding even though that is necessary for his survival. he's trying to eat from willing donor's and not harm them. Justine was mentally traumatized without his feeding, and he loves her. what's wrong with that?

Seems like every other one is this good...
Butcher manages to include the porn industry in a plot without being outre or gauche about it ... I went into this one expecting to cringe all the way through, and instead there was only one Big Cringe involving some consent and the reaction afterwards. I'm not excusing it by any means, but the rest of what Butcher does with the ongoing story of the series makes it one of the few low points.

New developments keep this alive and strong
I very much enjoyed the plot twists and character developments in this book. It opens up boundless opportunities for more Dresden Files. This is one though that would be hard to read without preamble.

I love Dresden, but vampires are so overdone.
Don't know what to say about this book. It had the usual great characters and story but I just an so sick of vampires. Him did take a unique angle as he always does and the comic relief is still there but I just hate vampires.

My first time for Dresden, but it won't be my last
What did you love best about Blood Rites?
Very good story. This is the first time I've listened to (or read) anything by Jim Butcher, but it won't be my last. What a fun and action packed tale. I will difinitely need to go back and read, (or listen to), the earlier books.
