So many secrets revealed. Best book in the series by far.

What did you like best about this story?

The surprises and reveals.

Which scene was your favorite?

The one where Harry is looking at a portrait of his mother.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Blood Rites! How far would you go for family.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to find out what happenes next. Don't want to put any spoilers.

If Twilight Had Actual Teeth

Dresden’s descent into the seedy underbelly of the occult is always enjoyable and thrilling. Glad to see a return to the gumshoe style of the first two novels.

Master's performance

Now characters are fully developed, the author's domain of the genre allows for a wide narrative arch that is is delightful even albeit the reader understand the formula behind.

Masters' performance in the audiobook makes it even more enjoyable.

Captivating story line.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because the story line was so captivating. I love listening to James Marsters. The Dresden Files are an amazing series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harry. He's witty.

Have you listened to any of James Marsters’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Other than the Dresden Files I didn't know he had any other performances.

I find myself smiling.

Would you listen to Blood Rites again? Why?

Yes. But in a few years after I have finished all of the Dresden books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bob is my favorite character. There is just something about a skull that is a sex fiend and enjoys cheesy romance novels.

Which character – as performed by James Marsters – was your favorite?

Harry Dresden, of course.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me smile a lot and sometimes laugh. Sort of reminds of sweet and sour with the extreme violence being the sour.

Any additional comments?

Maybe not great writing but characters that are great such as the temple dog, mister the cat and Murphy. I can count on listening to these books to delight me. I go around saying 'hells bells' when I have a problem.

James Marsters reads a Buffy joke.

If you could sum up Blood Rites in three words, what would they be?

Fun, exciting, unique

Who was your favorite character and why?

Karrin Murphy - she kicks supernatural and mortal asses indiscriminately

Have you listened to any of James Marsters’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer, however this was the first book I have heard James Masters read. He did an incredible job of performing Blood Rites, giving each character a distinct and consistent presence.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

So much so that I nearly lost my earbuds in an unfortunate bath accident.

Any additional comments?

Jim Butcher is crazy and kind of amazing.

My favorite one yet!

I really enjoyed this one! Murphy is my favorite and we get a lot more of her in this installment. As usual, the narration is great.
