Mercy can shape shift into a coyote and outside of having a good sense of smell, good hearing, she can sense magic and talk to ghosts. No super strength, just your average Girl who is a Mechanic ... lol ... Seriously just that alone made me want to buy the book. I don't have trouble believing in Fairies, Elves, Vampires or Werewolves but two things that I know don't exist in this world are Girl Mechanic's and Gamer Chicks. This is one of those books that just go a little bit beyond the point of keeping your interest. This book did leave me with a few questions... The main question about something that happened and the book even has it in the title, but... You know it is just one of those things... It happens right in front of your face, there is no doubt it just happened but everyone chooses to ignore it and after a span of time goes by even you are wondering if it happened.... Is it just me? I guess I am buying the next book! ;)
I've always loved books. Even before I could read I've loved them. Fact or Fiction, I love books. I'd sooner read a book than see a movie.
Her characters and their relationships become more developed. The relationships between and the understanding of fae, vampire, werewolves, ghosts and skin walkers become more clear. A new paranormal element is added to the mix, demons. Mercy's love interests and friendships are very interesting. The demon is much more scary than all the other paranormals and I enjoyed that tremendously. Her 2nd book is better and one can't help but want to read more books in the series.
That vampires are not as romantic as other books tell it. I liked the ghosts in this book and how they leave clues only Mercy can pick up on.
Her accents for the vampires and some of the fae were spot on.
It made me laugh and left me wanting to sleep with my head under the covers too.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
Right away Mercy gets into trouble, this time with demon possessed vampires. From the get go we are off and running and the story only gets better from there. Read this series in order. As usual Lorelei King is awesome. I have already downloaded the next book. Suggested series Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich, Charlie Davidson by Darynda Jones, Monster Hunter by Larry Correia, Sookie by Charlaine Harris, Elder Races by Thea Harrison.
I love this Series!!!!! I wish there were more books available, I hope she is writing more. You won't be disappointed if you like the supernaturals. And Don't miss the other series that she writes that is some what of an off shoot with the Montana relatives. Just starting that one and hope it is as good as this one!
I'm kinda picky, but I've enjoyed them. Haven't been too impressed by the writers abilities, but it has been simple and enjoyable.
Erm... A much better written version of Twilight? But twilight sets the bar low. No where near as good as Dresden files, but enjoyable.
... ... Another take on the same old story. It was enjoyable, I did enjoy it, but it was not that complex, there was not very many new ideas
I started with the first book and now I'm hooked. I like that all of the characters get developed and none of my favorites get forgotten during the story. This story focuses on the Vampires. It also brings a nice aspect of Mercy with her lamb necklace. The narrator does a fabulous job with the different voices, accents and languages.
I normally listen during my commute. This series was wonderful enough that I found myself listening as much as I could. Can not wait for the next book!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I keep looking at the books in my library with a wistful sadness, wishing I was just starting the series for the first time again, wishing I could discover it all anew again. I could have just kept listening to Mercy's life-I'm really sad that it's over. These were the audio books that got me hooked on audible. I really hope to find another series like this! Just absolutely wonderful!
Yes. I love the storyline. I love Lorelei King's narration. She brings the characters to life. I am so happy that she reads the Stephanie Plum novels. Can't wait.
The Patricia Briggs' stories are so riveting that relistening is almost required. Every time I listen to a book a 2nd or even 3rd time, I pick up more nuances in the characters.
I liked the way she builds the characters so that by the time the book ends, the reader can't wait to start the next one. This story almost makes vampires likable beasts...even if they are monsters. I wish I knew some.
I think it has to be Mercy although she does a good job with the vampires and the wolves, too. Samuel/Sam is sounds so cuddly if you believe her take.
You don't know what evil lies right across your backyard.
Only that I love these stories and love Ms. King's narration.
I've head the 1st book in the series and really enjoyed it. This one was even better because I've already met most of the charactors and know the relationship to Mercy.
She made it easy to identify with each charactor by giving them their own voice.
Author keeps you guessing. Even though the story is totally fiction, there are life lessons to learn. The reader is wonderful. I love the different voices, especially Z's. I am well on my way to reading this entire series. Each one pulls you deeper into Mercy's life.
