Publisher's summary

Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places - and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shape-shift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary - and neither is the demon inside of him.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Even better the second time

This is a re read for me. I'm between series and realized I really didn't have anything to read. I forgot how much I REALLY enjoyed the series so it was a no brainer to choose to re read the set. in 2 days I'm all ready on book 3. Love it even more the Second time around.

reread audio style 10/10 Absolutely Amazing series

I once read this series back in high-school in 2010, and now I get to relive it through audio. it's just as thrilling as I remember! I listened to this on the plane, at work, and while laying in bed to sleep and I still couldn't get enough!

Mercy is a heroine to love, with a lot of badassery and sarcasm but also extremely relatable. Her fear and pain is described so well, as is her thought process and other emotions. Her attraction to the wolves isn't overly done but not underwhelming either. Briggs knows what she's doing and when to remind the readers about the budding lust and relationships between Mercy and the others. And also keeping Mercy wholly herself, not letting her get lost in the romance of the wolves which is a breath of fresh air in these types of stories!

Mercy isn't the only amazing character either, each one is well built with their own personalities and mannerisms and depth! I'd say the most disappointing one for me would just be Adam, and i think thats a personal taste as a male lead. He's the typical dreamy werewolf Alpha, which we all love, but Briggs still gives him more than that. The devoted father and respectable solider has it depths, I guess I just like to have such men with more softer undertones in some moments?

Perhaps Adam will show those eventually but I don't read this story to Fawn over the romance and Adam- no this series is absolutely amazing for the independent female lead who is different than typical female leads and relatable! the traumas she deals with are heart-wrenching and the way she learns to cope with them with the help of such a great supportive array of characters is absolutely amazing as well! some parts are hard to read [due to my own traumas] but overall I would reread this story over and over.

That's all just about the story though, but listening to it makes the story that much better! the narrator does such a splendid job with the different voices and accents and capturing their emotions that it's even MORE thrilling than just reading it! I highly recommend this series and I just can't stop reading/listening to it!

Good Continuation

I am open minded, but somewhat apprehensive of book series. This book in the series did not disappoint. The book can be read out of sequence and carried forward the story line to include character development. I feel the narrator did a better job in this book. The narration was more fluid as apposed to slightly longer pause between sentences. Great characteristic voice sex, accents etc.,

Lack of Depth

Love the story, but the narration can use a male voice for more depth on the male voices concerning their growls, anger, frustration etc.

A Sequel that's better than the original.

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) - Moving from the Werewolf arena to the Vampire one, I found Blood Bound to be more exciting and captivating than Moon Called. Definitely listen to them in order as there are a few new characters, but this series seems to be furthering each characters development as the storyline progresses.

Plot - WIthout giving away any spoilers the book picks up a couple of months after Moon Called ended. The author does not spend a whole lot of time recapping every aspect of the Werewolf's but touches on the main points and get's right into the new dilemma at hand...Vampires. With the Vampires as the antagonists in this book it interesting to hear yet another author's rendition of the 5 W's with respect to Vampires. Because there was less time spent setting the scene (already taken care of in Moon Called) pretty much the entire 9+ hours was spent solving the crime and further developing the love "triangle" that spawned in the last book.

Narrator - Despite not being one of my personal favorites Ms. King once again does a good job. You'll rarely hear me complain about a narrator being brought back for the follow-on books and with a few exceptions I enjoy her voice inflections and ability to smoothly transition between characters through only using her voice.
