Publisher's summary

Jane Yellowrock is a shape-shifting skinwalker who always takes care of her own - no matter the cost....

When Evan Trueblood blows into town looking for his wife, Molly, he’s convinced that she came to see her best friend, Jane. But it seems like the witch made it to New Orleans and then disappeared without a trace.

Jane is ready to do whatever it takes to find her friend. Her desperate search leads her deep into a web of black magic and betrayal and into the dark history between vampires and witches. But the closer she draws to Molly, the closer she draws to a new enemy - one who is stranger and more powerful than any she has ever faced.

So, so good

The plot thickens. As the story has unfolded, Jane's decisions in earlier books are coming back to bite her now. In big, big ways. Molly is missing, and black magic and vampires are caught in the mix.

Will Jane be able to get Molly back, healthy, and whole? Will the decisions she has made continue to endanger the people she loves?

Once again, this book is full of danger, action, drama, and is so fast-paced I didn't want to stop listening.

I am giving it 5 Boundless stars.

The excellent narrative with different accents.

It us simply very well written with great research into cultures. The enunciation of the Cherokee language was spot in.

WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!

The only bad thing about this book is that it ended!!!! Whine, whine, whine. I now have to wait another year, really?! Action packed, drama filled, we are strong women hear us roar, all through the book! Loved it :) The action scenes just kill me....the detail and the wonderful narrator just make them come to life. I am so glad to see that one part of Jane's life gets resolved and she gets a little peace. Her love life, on the other hand, is going to take some work. (No, I am not going to spoil the surprise) The only thing I will say is that a sharp knife and the cutting off of some dangling parts would work wonders! I had a wonderful adventure with Jane Yellowrock and I can't wait to get to the next one.

Kristine Hvam, you ROCK!!! Loved your voices and your accents. Going to look for all the books that you narrate now.

Thanks for the wonderfully wild ride FH and KH :)

lol And YESSSSSSS its worth a credit and much more!

Hunter and Hvam ROCK.One of the best of the series

I'm not a big fan of vampire or zombie genre books but I've gotten very attached to the Jane Yellowrock novels narrated by Khristine Hvam. I've listen to Hvm on other books and she has a fantastic rangeof voices for characters..her male voices are excellent and all the women in the books are noticeably different.
However the one protagonist I like the best is BEAST, Janes alter ego. Beast, the mountain lion has actually grown as a character..it amazes me that Hunter and Hvam can give an animal such a great personality, not based on a joke like Oberon the Dog in Kevin Hearnes Druid series...for me Oberon lost his appeal quickly while I've grown to like beast more in each book.

The story ark also continues to grow and the series isn't a cliche romance with vamps liie others are. Yellowrock is a strong single woman who does love a man but their relationship is a small part of the entire plot like. I love how she has continued to grow thru sweat lodge memory trips with the Cherokee mother and daughter family who seem to be amongst her closest friends.

If you enjoy vampire stories and strong women protagonists, I encourage you to try this series..do start with the first novel--they build on each other.

WOW!

Your hooked on a series and you get excited when the next book comes out, because no matter how good or bad the story is, you get your fix. Ms. Hunter delivered in Black Arts!!! This latest installment was one of the best in the series and probably my favorite. If you haven't read the series yet, I envy you, go back to the beginning and catch up.

Another home run for Faith Hunter

Loved it. Jane & Beast as rough & tumble as ever. Kristina Hvam brings Jane off the page audibly & as true to character as possible, without getting Jane to speak it herself. But as Jane would say,... "Yeah, that ain't happenin'"!
