Publisher's summary

Missy Roper's fantasies have revolved around Graham Winters since the moment they met. But the imposing leader of the Silverback werewolf clan always seemed oblivious to Missy's existence. At least he was, until Missy collides with him at a party and then abruptly runs away---arousing Graham's interest...and wild desires. Lupine law decrees that every Alpha must have a mate, and all Graham's instincts tell him that the sensual, beguiling Missy is his. Trouble is, Missy is human---every delectable inch of her. Convincing his clan that she's his destined mate, and keeping her safe from his enemies, will be the biggest challenge Graham has ever faced. And now that he is determined to have her---as his lover and as his mate---Missy's world is changing in ways she never imagined.

Good Things Come in Small Packages!

This book was fantastic, even though it was short compared to many of my reads. Even with the abbreviated length, it still had fantastic character development and a juicy, edge of your seat story line. I was seriously impressed. The first book in the series was pretty good, but this one did exceed it, pushing close to perfection when it comes to what I like in a paranormal romance.

While the narrator did a pretty terrific job with most elements in reading this story, I'm afraid I wasn't all that thrilled with the voice she gave to Graham, our male lead. To say she made him sound gruff is an understatement. Yes, he is a werewolf, but I don't particularly find a voice that sounds more like a cartoon characterization of a dog talking than a sexy shapeshifter. It was definitely on the "too gruff" side of things. Despite that minor distraction, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good paranormal story. While it would be better to read or listen to the first book in the series first, it's not necessary. Most certainly worth a credit!!!

Tough one to get through

Would you try another book from Christine Warren and/or Kate Reading?

No, I don't think so.

What could Christine Warren have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have a stronger female character. She lacked self esteem and was always thinking that she wasn't good enough. I read stories to get away from that sort of thing.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Absolutely. I couldn't get past her lisp and she made the heroine sound less appealing than the author intended.

What character would you cut from Big Bad Wolf?

They all seemed pretty essential.

Any additional comments?

When the author explains about the mate hunt, she specifically mentions that if a couple are mated, they only hunt for each other because wolves mate for life. Then, in the next scene, she has the villain hunting for another man's mate, even though the villain has a mate of his own and a child. What's up with that? Where was this villain's mate and why would she ever allow him to go after another female?

Big BAD Book

First of all, and worst of all, the performer's voice for the Graham. It sounded like someone impersonating your drunken, crabby, old uncle Louie. Graham's supposed to be hot - this voice was not even lukewarm. Listen to the sample before buying...because it doesn't get any better than that. So much of the story was from the male perspective that - I think a male performer should have been used.

As for the story... omg. So bad. So wrong. Helpless plain jane meets oversexed wolf man and suddenly it's all hearts and roses? If breeding and beastiality turn you on, give this a read. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

Seriously, get Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon if you want something like this. It's a similar story but done so much better.

LOVED IT!!

What made the experience of listening to Big Bad Wolf the most enjoyable?

Great story (one of Christine Warren's best in my opinion), and really good narration (very sexy voice for Graham). This kept me very good company on a long flight to Asia. Highly recommended.

I don't usually give books a 5 star rating unless they are spectacular. This has been my favorite Christine Warren book so far. If you like paranormal romance, this book (and the series) is a must!

The chemistry between Missy and Graham.

I read the book, many many times, and I purchased the ebook and read that many many times over the years. But has taken me almost 6 or seven years to get through audiobook. I just couldn’t get through the narrators interpretation Graham. I forced myself to sit and listen, and was someone surprised. i’ve always liked Kate Redding, but her male voices is just not believable for me. The books are very entertaining.

Story was great.

Narrator’s voice whilst attempting to sound masculine. It was irritating. Probably would have been better off with a male and female narrator.
Overall, a good listen.
