The Night Angel Trilogy grows increasingly multi-threaded, leaving the reader wondering where Weeks is ultimately going. He finally ties almost all threads together in a memorable conclusion that is worth the effort. Narrator Paul Boehmer improves as the book goes on and finishes with fine drama.
I was in love with the first 2 books, but all of a sudden the author decided to deal with the hornyness of all the virgin men in this one book. Beyond that the story was nothing short of the awesomeness I had come to love in the first to, until the character minds wandered off the battle feel and on his or her wife or husband at home. The other books seemed far more balanced with love and killing and a war and kings being killed.
Yes and no. Having listened to the first two books, I had to listen to this, the last, or I would have gone crazy. But, as with the first two, I found both the writing and reading lacking in anything really special.
Probably not. I thought the story line trite, reworked themes from other titles in the genre.
There was something weird in the reader's intonation or word emphasis or something that I can't quite put my finger on. As with the first two books, I kept finding myself re-saying the passages in my head to make them sound "right."
I thought it was good - exactly the enjoyment I expect from the author, and the narrator did a good job - distinctive character voices with only a few seeming missteps with the voice oe words. maintaining the expectations I have from this author :-)
overall great book. could have done with a much smaller portion of elene though. I understand she is essential to the story but she was so irritatingly naïve. get chapters with kylar were pretty much skippable and kylar was a much better hero when she wasn't around.
I LOVE audio books. I drive 20 hours per week on average and use that time to listen to books. I love long books, and multi book series.
This was a really good finale to the trilogy. I liked where Weeks went with the story.
This series, while much much shorter, and more adult in content, is up there with Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time series.
Whiney, petulant, expressive.
The 3 stars for "overall" are because of the performance, not the story.
I did the whole series. Great writing great characters great story.
I'm very impressed with the writer. Thank U Brent
Great series, very well written but this book jumped the shark. I'm afraid to get the next one, don't know if I want to use a credit or spend the time
