    "Good story but ends unfinished"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

it's a good storyline and leaves you wanting to know the end, so will entice you to get the next in what is, i guess a series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Between Two Thorns?

can i say without spoiling any plot? the first interaction with lord poppy.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

the author does the reading, and tells the story well, she doesn't distinguish voices well and has a very feminine voice, which makes it difficult to tell who is saying what sometimes.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

the head scratching of the gargoyl

    Any additional comments?

wish i'd known it was part of a series at the start, but v good, worth a listen if you like sci-fi, fairies and fey and all that.

    Story
"A modern fairy tale set in a convincing world"

I'm a fan of urban fantasy especially if it's set in London. This is full of interesting ideas and the Nether is a great creation, convincingly portrayed. The Fae Lords are traditional old school bad fairies who regard humans as playthings much like Terry Pratchett's elves in Lords and Ladies which is fine by me.

This does work as a stand alone book but it made me keen to read the next installment.

At first I wasn't very impressed by Emma Newman's narration of her own novel but her voice and story telling soon grew on me. I especially like how different Cathy sounds from the other Fae touched.

    "Deep, Delicious, Dark, Tea."

This book takes no prisoners, when you start listening it sweeps you along. Three very different point of view characters are tossed together in an adventure. If you like fantasy stories, steam-punk, women's rights, victoriana, faeries or dimensional crossing tales then you are sure to enjoy a good few hours listening. Put on the kettle and get ready to be sucked in to the Split Worlds!
