Ten years after Blayne Thorpe first encountered Bo Novikov, she still can't get the smooth-talking shifter out of her head. Now he's shadowing her in New York-all seven-plus feet of him - determined to protect her from stalkers who want to use her in shifter dogfights. Even if he has to drag her off to an isolated Maine town where the only neighbors are other bears almost as crazy as he is....
Let sleeping dogs lie. Bo knows it's good advice, but he can't leave Blayne be. Blame it on her sweet sexiness-or his hunch that there's more to this little wolfdog than meets the eye. Blayne has depths he hasn't yet begun to fathom - much as he'd like to. She may insist Bo's nothing but a pain in her delectable behind, but polar bears have patience in spades. Soon she'll realize how good they can be together. And when she does, animal instinct tells him it'll be worth the wait....

"Another Laurenston gem! [Listeners] can enjoy this tale even if it's their first in the series." (RT Book Reviews)
I have been happily married for 17 years, I have 3 children (12, 14, & 16), and 2 dogs. I am currently working on a 2nd degree. Life is chaotic and stressful, but I wouldn't change it. I am blessed and enjoying my life.
I smiled all the way through this book. If you are in need of light, feel good entertainment this is the one. I truly enjoyed my time in Blayne's world. Bo and Blayne were just sweet, funny, and loveable. Blayne was like a sweet, hug-able, rabid chiwawa with the emphasis on rabid! I loved her personality. There wasn't a lot of violence, until the end. (LOL I am not including the hockey/derby action as violent) The bad guys got what was coming to them, although they weren't very developed. It was more a shifter romance than the action/shifter stories I have become used to. It was a nice change from the darker and grittier shifter stories. I liked visiting with the family :) I am looking forward to more entertaining adventures!
Love to read!
This was such a cute, funny, and sweet book! I didn't want to stop listening at all. The main characters are complete opposites. She is flaky, personable, and hyper (sometimes annoying), while he is OCD, rigid, and unfriendly. It is hilarious to hear her mess with him so much and turn his life upside down. I laughed throughout the book.
I have really enjoyed the humor and fun of this series. I would recommend to anyone who wants a feel good book to snuggle up to. Great to listen to and worth the credit
Haven't read the book only listened to the series in audio format
Loved Blayne she was so endearing I was rooting for her from the moment her character was introduced
When Blayne works the bear authorities into not putting the stray dogs down, she's a girl after my own heart.
I tried to listen to it all in one sitting but life kept getting in the way. Darn those little responsibilities like work, taking care of parents and sleep!
I've loved this series, it is rare to find an author that can make me laugh out loud, much less keep it up book after book. The narrator gets five stars for her performance the characters would not be half as endearing without her portrayal of down home southern or Bronx New York accents she nails it!!! To save time apply these comments to the entire series.
I really like this series and have read them all. I was glad to see them come out on audio. These books may never get critical acclaim, but Shelly Laurenston has taken a red hot genre, put her own spin on it and what makes this series work is her great sense of humor. She has developed crazy, interesting characters that you just have to love, laugh at and laugh with. Beast Behaving Badly is my ALL time favorite of all the stories. Once you have read this you will never look at wearing a watch in quite the same way. This narrator was well suited for the story. GREAT JOB Ms Laurenston.
I truly love all the books by Shelly Laurenston because they have great characters with quirky personalities and they make you love them. I really like this narrator too. It's like she was made to read for this author. They're a winning team.
This is one of my favorites in this series I don't know if my favorite part is playing in the bakery or in the hair Salon but I still love them all
Give me water to swim and surf in. That with a glass of white wine and the sun. That's heaven.
I would because it's such a refreshing style.
Bo because he has such patience.
Charlotte Kane does a wonderful job giving the characters in the story personalities.
Bear meets Wolf-Dog
Beast behaving badly is at the top of my list. It is entertaining and captivating. I laughed out loud. I enjoyed reading the book, but the narration really makes these characters, all the characters in the book very real.
Blaine is kind of a whacked character. Bo is Bo. All the moments, action in the book come very much to life. It is just over all well done.
I haven't listened to other of her narrations. But knowing that she is the one bringing the story to life in another book would be one of my considerations in buying it.
I laughed out loud listening to this book. The narration added a whole dimension to the characters in the book. As I said above, I enjoyed reading the book. The narration just makes these characters so alive. I really enjoyed it.
I listen to audiobooks when I drive. I drive more miles then Ieven want to think about during the week. I found myself listening to this book every opportunity I could get. At home at night before I went to bed, walking the dogs, cooking dinner and of course while driving. I was sorry when it was over. I'll just have to look for another one by the same author, and the same narrator.
Beth Anne Bell
I love the shifter world that Shelly Laurenston has created. Every character is rich in details and humor. I usually laugh from the first to the last page.
I have read a lot of shifter books, but Shelly Laurenston has my favorite shifter only series. I also enjoy her Dragon series books, written as G.A. Aiken as well.
I loved Charlotte Kane's performance. She has just enough deep growl in her voice to convey the shifters perfectly while still making the women sound like women and the men like men. Being from the south, it's hard to get the southern accent right, but she did a really good job.
It made me laugh, a lot. If you want a serious romance, stay away from Laurenston. If you want a laugh your pants off and enjoy a really good story book, then pick up any of hers.
This is not the first book in the series. I would recommend reading in this order:
The Mane Event
The Beast in Him
The Mane Attraction
The Mane Squeeze
Beast Behaving Badly
Big Bad Beast
Bear Meets Girl
Wolf With Benefits
Howl For It anthology – "Like a Wolf With a Bone"
So, as you can see, Beast Behaving Badly is the 5th book. It contains characters from the other books, which build on the series and make the whole thing enjoyable.
