Publisher's summary

It takes more than silver bullets to kill a werewolf. Sylvester James knows what it is to be haunted. His mother died giving birth to him and his father never let him forget it; until the night he was butchered by a werewolf - the night a full moon ruined his life.

Alone in the world, Sylvester is taken in by Michael Winterfox, a Cheyenne mystic. Winterfox, once a werewolf hunter, trains the boy to be a warrior - teaching him how to block out pain, stalk, fight, and kill. Bit by bit, all that makes Sylvester human is sacrificed to the hunt. Now, Sylvester's hatred has become a monster all its own, robbing him of conscience and conviction as surely as the Beast's bite.

As he follows his vendetta into the outlands of the occult, options become scarce. And he learns it takes more than silver bullets to kill a werewolf... To kill a werewolf, it takes a hunter with a perfect willingness to die.

Great Story... horrible Narrator...

I enjoyed this.. Character and concept are all great. The writing is a bit on the basic side... but the story is good.. I couldn't stop listening. The narrator is a bit tough to get though but the story makes up for it.

Interestingly dark , but maybe a bit much ?

Any additional comments?

Now , I'm not the kinda guy who shy away from a dark story . I really like horror an such sense I was a wee little tyke , saying that these books Kinda hurt , Metaphoricaly . I feel they fall in the category of morbide. took me a a bit to finish this one . And (had too return the next )After a few days I had too recharge , by watching Disney movies just too finish it . Not too say the storie is a bad one , if u took half the blood death an torture out this book it would be far shorter; easer to listin too in my humble opinion ..

Drew me I immediately.

This book grasped me from the beginning . Great story and believable. I heard some people complaining about racism when regarding the Vietnamese as gooks said it was overdone. I disagree as I've studied the history of Vietnam quite a bit and that's just how soldiers talked back then. Being a former soldier myself I found the language to be spot on and not out of the ordinary . De humanizing and inhumane enemy is common practice even if it is disgusting to the common man. Other than that there were very few racist slurs also considering the time frame of the book 50s 60s. Found it to fit the narrative of how people were back then not that I agree at all with using them towards others . This is a stellar series I really enjoyed it as I said hooked me almost immediately.

A Very Solid Story

It’s very different, but I think it’s the best werewolf story since “Those Across the River,” and that is saying a lot. Well written and well and performed. I look forward to the sequels.

Great Story

What did you love best about Autobiography of a Werewolf Hunter?

A pretty good werewolf story. Good enough for me to purchase the sequel. Might have been a bit better if the author cut it a bit short. Was a bit lengthy and dry in parts but overall, I liked it. Glad to have found a new horror author!!
