Sci-fi, Fantasy, Mystery, Adventure, and YA Novels. If it weren't for physics, law enforcement, and my medication, I'd be unstoppable!
This is not just your standard True Blood or Twilight-type vampire story. I thought there was an interesting twist in this one, despite being another vampire love story with a female main character. It wasn't the best story I've ever listened to, but it was good enough that I will probably continue with the rest of the series when it is available.
Aurora, the main character, is involved in a near fatal accident that nearly kills her. She discovers that a secret government agency offered to save her (with millions of dollars in treatments) in exchange for her continued service to the country by hunting and killing vampires. Her mother accepts, essentially leaving her indebted for the rest of her life.
Aurora's is told that her rare blood type allows her to carry a modified version of the vampire virus that makes her a weapon against vampires. When they drink her weaponized blood, they are temporarily incapacitated allowing her to kill them. The downside is that she could turn into a vampire if she doesn't receive periodic injections.
She is forced to kill a zombie-like, violent vampire during her agency initiation, but she soon discovers that not all vampires are alike. The boy she has long had a crush on, who is finally showing an interest in her, turns out to be a vampire himself. How can she possibly kill him when he is nothing like the violent, zombie-like killer he is supposed to be?
Overall the narration was pretty good in this book. Overall I give it 4 stars.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.
I read all kinds of books, but I have an obsession with paranormal and fantasy at the moment. Sorry about any spelling mistakes/typos.
I always love getting three books in one, it's great to be able to listen to so much of the series without having to find the next book.
The story is amazing, it combines so very controversial topics with teen-aged high school drama and the tangled love interests that go with it.
While Aurora is interesting I think I'd have to say Dante, he;s just so full of life and is always looking for the positive side of the situation.
Yes, I laughed in lots of places and even had to try not to cry while listening on the train (too many odd looks), the story was very engaging and really drew me in.
It takes a REALLY good book to get a five start review out of me these days but this(these) book(s) have earned it.
The story starts with a bang and never slows down. It's engaging and you can't help but want to know what is going to happen next. The characters are really well written and even with the vampire element it feels like it could be real.
The interactions are realistic and the dynamics between the characters is excellent.
The narration is excellent, I didn't notice anything that stood out as wrong The male voices were good which is not always the case with a female narrator and it was consistent across all three books.
I need the fourth book now!
Note: This book was supplied free in return for an honest review.
This collection brings a different take on the usual vampire story. The pace was steady with enough action to keep the listener's interest. The narration was excellent. The last book ended in a cliff hanger.

With that said... As soon as I finished listening to audiobooks 1-3, I purchased the next in the series because I was that addicted. If you don't like YA books then you won't like Aurora Sky. If you do like YA books then you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Aurora Sky as much as I do. I find myself walking around playing it over in my head needing to know what is going to happen next. Great characters and Em Eldridge is the perfect narrator (a narrator can really make or break and audio book).
It started off rough for me, but it definitely got me about half way through the first book. Even though i think some of the concepts are a little strange since this is not ur typical vampire book and in the end that was a positive. I will be using a credit to get the next book in the series.
The narrator was pretty good.
The book is way to long for one sitting, but I did find myself staying up when I should be sleep listening.

I am addicted to audiobooks. It makes my 1 hour (each way) commute go by without me becoming an agressive driver. lol
I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I really liked this 3-book series. The continuation of this series is in my wish list. Too bad audible doesn't have the .5 books in the series. I really enjoyed this young adult story. Nikki Jefford does an excellent job of giving us a story that has suspense, thrill and young love. She includes the "high-school bully" scenario and the spoiled girl. Is there life after death? Well, maybe not life as we know it, but there is definitely a story after death. The author does a fabulous job of creating the characters and the narrator does an awesome job of telling the stories and portraying each individual person so uniquely you really get to know them and can easily distinguish each character in the story. Loved the 3 books I was given. Looking forward to the next ones in this series.
I think the narration brought the story to life a bit more, especially since it is slow starting.
The twist with the love interest.
Em did all the voices really well, and it was easy to discern who was speaking and what they were feeling.
Vampire hunter gone love
The first book started out rather slow and was a bit drawn out but it picks up around half way in. The idea that there are a variety of vampires and types was unique and I really liked the way it plays in the story. Believe it or not it actually ends up being a love story and while I liked that aspect the character Aurora had moments when she became slightly irritating with her behavior but I was able to overlook those moments fairly easily. I would definitely recommend this series because it is so different and was entertaining. It got better as the story went on and I ended up loving it. I received this audiobook for free from audiobook boom for my unbiased review.

Each book got better and better, sexier and sexier. I almost did something I rarely ever do... stop everything and buy the next in the series. FYI: I will buy it, just have a few to listen to first.
The plot was intricate and held my interest. I was surprised by some twists but predicted a few. The characters were likable and believable. The bad boy was achingly alluring and the good boy was freaking lovable. Choices, choices. I personally go for darker, sexier situations but, c'mon, that's not everything to a good book.
Narration was spot on. No complaints there!
A full two thumbs up!
Say something about yourself!
This is a vampire series and I love vampires, so I was exited to start this one. It also started out great, but beware that this is a different take on vampires than you're probably used to. I'm used to vampires in a paranormal world, but this story has a sci-fi take on vampires. I had to get used to the new eyes on how vampires behaved and that there's a lot of different KIND of vampires.
Allthough I wasn't much into this story myself, it's a well-written story and very well-plotted. If I had to write a vampire novel, I'd also make it different from other authors and Nikki Jefford defenitely did. So if you like sci-fi and vampires AND is a young adult/new adult you might give this a try.
When all this is said, it went on very slow in the beginning. I was 3 hours into the first book and it turned out to be a love story between Aurora and Fane. I really wanted Aurora to be a hunter very fast or at least train to be one. But the story went no where else than to love, sex and a reckless Aurora. It bored me. It does get better, but the whole set-up made me not to go beyond the first book. I also expected the story to be humorous, but I didn't laugh at all. Disappointing.
Narrator Em Eldrigde did a fine job with all her voices. She keeps you listening and performes at a good pace, very cozy.
