Evangeline Stone, a rogue bounty hunter, never asked for a world divided between darkness and light...or the power to die and live again in someone else's borrowed body. After a murder plot meant to take her out leaves an entire race of shapeshifters nearly extinct, Evy is gnawed by guilt. So when one of the few survivors of the slaughter enlists her aid, she feels duty-bound to help---even though protecting a frail, pregnant shifter is the last thing Evy needs, especially with the world going to hell around her. Amid weres, Halfies, gremlins, vamps---and increasingly outgunned humans---a war for supremacy is brewing. With shifters demanding justice, her superiors desperate to control her, and an assassin on her trail, Evy discovers a horrifying conspiracy. And she may be the only person in the world who can stop it---unless, of course, her own side gets her first.

"Kelly Meding is a real storyteller." (Patricia Briggs)
Great narration. I like to list this first as it can make or break a story.
Love stories with kick ass chicks.
I really enjoy it when readers with similar reading interests list their favourite authors and series. It really helps me find new authors too follow. Mine are Charlaine Harris, Jeaniene Frost, Jennifer Estep, Faith Hunter, Molly Harper, Ilona Andrews, Kresley Cole, Deborah Harkness, Nalini Singh, Coreene Callahan, Stacia Kane, Kelly Medding and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
Among my top 10 book series.....I've truly enjoyed the storyline, heroine and characters.
Evie's moment on why she's afraid to love.
Xe's performance brings Evie's character to life and the other characters' voices are believable. Her males sound like males, etc.
Yes, there were actually a couple of moments that moved me, the part where Leo realized that Alex is dead and Evie realizing why she was afraid to love were pivotal to me.
I'm enjoying the series.....I hope that the same narrator continues to narrate all the books. Recently, completed another series and one of the books had a different narrator and I kept thinking that there was something amiss.
Totally addicted! It's possible I might need Audible rehab.
The story is entertaining but the narrator is often flat making it a bit difficult to invest in the story.
Was not sure what to expect, have read books with similar story lines but this just seemed to be better than the others, went on to read everything in seried
