Not abridging it!
No. But all the books need to be read unabridged!
His performance was excellent, for the abridged part that he read.
Too much of the story was left out!
all the books in the series 1,2,3 are unabridged then comes this then the next one is back to unabridged. this really sucks!!!!!!!!!
it is abridged!!!!!!!!!!
I said enough!
"Much...much too short"
Doherty's earler books in the series were great, but when you listen to them all back to back the amount of "cut and paste" that has been used from one book to the next leads to significant repetition. Obviously a professional writer and teacher of creative writing (the web says so), Doherty has cashed in on taking all the wonders of the world, added all the great mythological civilisations, thrown in a generous helping of aliens and special forces for good measure and come up with a recipe which cannot fail to meet the needs of the majority of the male population. Given these key ingredients, the number of posiible permutations guarantees Doherty a long run of titles...BUT the narration fromone book to the next is inconsistent and off-putting, and the repetition (undoubtedly introduced to try to ensure that each book can be read in its own right without having to read the series) is somewhat monotinous. By the time time he wrote the Sphinx I think Doherty was bored of the franchise and the publishers were bored of reading the same text over and over - hence the VERY short book!
