Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she's the best - but she doesn't know if she's good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, only one thing is clear - failure is not an option... even if the task she's been set is impossible. Because this time, it's not a wayward vamp she has to track. It's an archangel gone bad.
The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other, and pull her to the razor's edge of passion. Even if the hunt doesn't destroy her, succumbing to Raphael's seductive touch just may. Because when archangels play, mortals break.

Great narration. I like to list this first as it can make or break a story.
Loved this story. Easy listerning and very entertaining. Will be impatiently waiting for any new books in audio from this author.
I really enjoy it when readers with similar reading interests list their favourite authors and series. It really helps me find new authors too follow. Mine are Charlaine Harris, Jeaniene Frost, Jennifer Estep, Faith Hunter, Molly Harper, Ilona Andrews, Kresley Cole, Deborah Harkness, Nalini Singh and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
I love series. Getting to know your favourite characters more and more every book. Having an opportunity to find out the story of the secondary characters that always capture us but are not the focus of the story. For all these reasons and so many more ... I love series. I have just discovered Nalini Singh and her Archangel Series and wow what a find. Add to the wonderful depth of the story and the fantastic characters she creats, the fantastic naration by Justine Eyre and its a flawless combination. I listened to all three back to back and cannot wait for the next installment.
Highly recommend this series, writer and narrator!!
I'm starting the next one. Cannot wait! It is strange, because obviously I know the plot:)
Justine Eyre is a delight to listen to. Thanks to her reading I stuck it out for far longer than I would otherwise have done. It's a pity I couldn't find anything else in the catalogue that she has read that isn't a romance. Wouldn't bother with Nalini Singh. The story line was promising but by about quarter of the way through I was finding the the book more and more distasteful. Pleasure was only linked to fear and pain, killing was excessive and random and the romance was thinly disguised rape or the promise thereof. It is probably trying to be an up to date bodice ripper and obviously it appealed to other listeners but I would have liked human beings to have some value and love to be on an equal power base. Just saying.
No. I love the vampire/ vampire hunter genre. Still listening and enjoying.
Someone who is interested in erotic fiction laced with a very slight story line.
NO, I like most of the fantasy books I have listened to.
The sex scenes
"Must read/ listen"
This book ranks quite high among all the books i have listened too. I read the book first and enjoyed it so much that i thought listening would be a good idea and it didm' disappoint.
I loved the interplay between all the characters and it is difficult to choose just one scene although all of the one on the roof stick in my mind.
I read many different genres of books and different authors including Ilona Andrws, Trudi Canavan, Ben Aaronovitch, A G Riddle.... and this has stuck out as a good read and slightly different.
"if calsberg made angels "
I loved this book why? well it had adventure, sexiness and romance. the heroine was smart , funny and above all kick ass, the hero was also a villien at times but came across as strong, attractive and protective. Singh weaves a story of intrigue and suspense couple that with steamy sexy vampires and a hint of steamy sex between some of the characters and you have a book with bite.
The narrator had a clear sweeping voice who seamed to meld the character's easily you always knew which character was speaking and when. you didn't confuse Ransom with Rafael or venom with Dametrie or Elinor with Sara each character has their own lilt and timber.
well worth the money I paid and I want more.
First book in a series - I enjoy reading/listening to a series time to get to know the characters.
One of my favourites was Dmitri - a strong character who has the protection of his master at heart
I LOVE the Riley Jenson series - one of my absolute favourites. I think she did better as Riley Jenson as she carried an Australian accent very easily.
May be when she shot the angels wing
I purchased this book 9 months ago listened to the first fifteen minutes and it didn't capture me so I put it aside. I found the book again in my library and decided to give it a second go and found I like it - I wouldn't say love but it was a good listen. I will buy others in the series particularly if they go not special offer. This is not meant as a major criticism and I know this may sound odd but it bothered me that the book contains various Angels but never mentions God.
