Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

PHEWWWW IM SHOOK*** (spoilers)***

This series was amazing start to finish. Epic series yet very moving and intimate. Somehow never trite or pretentious. Never too wordy but very descriptively immersive. THE CHARACTERS. The shining star of this series is the masterfully crafted characters. Lans arch is so perfectly capped with his heroic last lesson i got chills. Threads from 12 books ago woven pefectly to their satisfying conclusions. Theres so many examples. The ending is very bittersweet. Overall an excellent conclusion. Some of my favorite characters (hard to choose):
1. Matt. Loved his tactical abilities, tricky, honorable. Had some moments and one liners that got my excitedly slamming my steering wheel. (I mostly enjoyed these on the road for work)
2. Nynieve (spelling?) - I relate to her anger issues too much. But she always cared and wanted to protect. Very much relate to her character in these ways personally
3. Loyal - Awkward but capable. His views on humans were hilarious. Theyre so hasty!
4. Tom - Such a badass Bard/Rogue character. Always noble though and real crafty.
5. Gareth Brinne and Siuan - Both badass heros. Noble to the end. Great love story that felt tragically unfinished.
6. Morraine - The real initiator and guide to this whole thing although gone for so long im glad she came back. i fell in love with her mysterious serene vibe in early books
7. Galad Domadred - Saw much development. a great Symbol for Justice and Leader of the children of the light
8. Lan - His conclusion was one of the most climactic things ive ever read. SHEATHING THE SWORD. Wayyyy back he said it was his final lesson. I beat the shit outta my steering wheel for that fight against demondred. Such a STONE COLD BADASS DUDE.

anyways 10/10 one of the best fantasy series of all time. Will hold a place in my heart and mind forever.

A Sense of Loss, A Sense of Reward

It's not easy to come to an ending in the Wheel of Time. Five years ago, I read the books. Two years ago, I started listening to them. I thought when I listened to them, knowing how it would end, and who lived and who died, that it wouldn't bother me. Yet, I found myself holding back tears again at multiple points. At the ending of this series, I feel like something inside of me died a little bit. After finishing a great series, it's not easy to get over.

Brandon Sanderson was a great steward. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading both had fantastic performances. I always worry with multiple narrators in that I can find it jarring to have two different voices for one character (Kate and Michael both have their own distinct Mat voices, for example). However, their execution throughout the series was flawless.

Robert Jordan, may the Creator watch over you. May you always have a pipe in one pocket, and a pouch of good Two River's tabac in the other.

Best for Last

I do love the entire Wheel of Time series, although sometimes the writing was a little bit drawn out. This last book was almost night and day in that aspect. It still contained all of the details as the other 13 books, but was packed full of epic battle, deep human condition, and suspense in every hour of listening. It was probably the best book of the series imo. I couldn't find enough excuses to listen throughout the few days it took to listen to the entire book.

Amazing conclusion to an incredible story!

Over 9h for one chapter, detailing an epic and terrible battle! I don’t think more is needed to describe the incredible scale of this book. Never has an ending been so great, so terrible, so complete than with this one!
