Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Neither beginnings nor endings to the turning...

There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was an ending...

Brandon Sanderson and the deceased Robert Jordan did an admiral job completing the Wheel of Time saga. I have never been taken in by a series of books so completely as these books. There were certainly ups and downs... but the ups carried me far past any slow parts of the series. If you are a fan of Epic Fantasy, you're missing out if you haven't read or listened to this series.

This book cannot stand by itself. You must read the entire series - a lofty proposition - before reaching the climactic ending. It is a faced paced, yet long, book. It is some of Sanderson's best work and on par with Jordan's best writing.

Kate Reading and Michael Kramer, as always, did an amazing job narrating this book. They have consistently narrated the entire series and haven't let their listeners down yet. They portray characters clearly enough many readers will identify who is speaking before Sanderson has identified them.

Be wary... Sanderson and Jordan's widow have stated there won't be any more Wheel of Time books. I, personally, hold out hope they will change their minds and produce a few short novels in the future between Sanderson's other amazing works, but all indications are this will not be the case.

You will get drawn in and will mourn for the losses and dream for those who survive. As with all good things... it had to come to an end eventually, and this ending was absolutely amazing.

This book is well worth the purchase in whatever medium you prefer. Enjoy...

Hands down one of the best books ever written

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to anyone who has already invested the time in reading the prior 13 novels of the series. For that person, this is an exceptionally satisfying final chapter to this beyond epic saga.

Thank you Robert Jordan, for such an incredible series, and thank you Brandon Sanderson for giving us the end that Robert Jordan always planned to give us. Fantastic!

Absolutely Incredible

Writing this review is hard. This book, this series really, is one of the most beautiful, engrossing, and well written stories ever told, and now it's done. A Memory of Light has given me a sense of closure that other books/series have not. It ties up every plot that matters, and the end is truly a masterpiece of story telling. 14 books later and here I sit with a hole in my stomach thinking about all the time I've spent with every one of these characters, especially Mat, Perrin, and Rand. Read or listen to these books. Live this story with them, and I promise you will not be disappointed. What a journey. 10/10

A nice ending to the series (there are SPOILERS)

A Memory of Light has been the best book in the WOT series since A Lord of Chaos and it might have got five stars if it wasn't for the memory of the slog one had to go through to get to the end. Brandon Sanderson needs to be commended for being able to finish the longest series in fantasy history from RJ's notes. If it hadn't been for the drawn out plots in books 7 - 11 which had to be wrapped up properly in 12 and 13 before the final novel, I might consider it to be the greatest fantasy series.

There were many deaths of minor characters in the novel as one would expect in a novel about The Last Battle, but only one real major POV character. If this had been GRRM it might have only been a single major POV character who survived. There are many people who would be sad that Egwene was the character who died, but to sound a little morose I was pleased. Egwene has been one of those characters who constantly made me put the previous novels and walk away. I suppose there will always be characters who will get under my skin because if I had been in control of Lost, the self-righteous character of Jack would not have survived the first season.

There are some questions raised in the series which are not answered. But that's how RJ wanted things to end and it was perhaps best that they weren't answered and will now never be.

My biggest gripe with the novel is that Rand didn't actually die at the end of the Last Battle. It's become a little bit of cliche in fantasy that the prophecy which says that the great hero meant to die at the last battle doesn't (just look at Harry Potter). I think it might have been a good little twist that the prophecy ended up being right and the great hero sacrifices himself for the rest of the world.

Fantastic!

Brandon Sanderson. You did a great job finishing! (Except for Matt you completely ruined his character)
Great job in all other aspects of the story.

Do fall in love with the characters

Where does A Memory of Light rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It wasn't my favorite, but the series finally ended.

Would you be willing to try another book from Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson ? Why or why not?

Great story line, keeps you interested.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Great adventure, love, loss, and victory and more.

Any additional comments?

Book 14 should be revised it was rushed and really bad. the only issue in these booksis that there are too many books, plus how the series end, no body wants a ending like book 14. It was rushed really not finished well. To fall in love with the characters and root for them to end like it did wasn't right. Brought in things in the books or stories line ready should have been cut.
