A Battle Worth Remembering

This an amazing tale of an ongoing battle. Basically military SciFi at its best. A tale aflood with an orgy violence towards aliens in a style rarely seen in modern SciFi and tons of fun.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this for 4.95.

If you like Larry Correa, Lee Child and Vince Flynn, you gotta listen to John Ringo. From a quiet beginning, excalating quickly into an action thriller, A Hymn Before Battle is a great listen. I listened to the whole book in 1 day. The language might be steep at times but being a retired Army Major, I found it riveting.

A brutal and unrelenting look into the military

Some of Ringo's best work, A Hymn Before Battle, weaves a photo-realistic view of earth with the sudden installation of aliens in the known universe and how the military handles the response.

What Ringo manages here that stands out from Forever War, or Old Man's War, is he covers not just the boots on the ground, but the battles that are fought among the chain of command as well.

Lots of action, lots of interesting intrigue.

A great addition to any audible library!

Great story

I only wish that the sci-fi and action audio books started to work with female and male narrators like other genres that I listen to. However, the narration was well done and the story interesting, kept me listening.

A Great Military Sci-fi

This book is a good example of a quality military Science Fiction. While it contains both the military and science portions of the genre, it also is well designed in that it focuses on what truly drive the plot which is the characters. The story is intriguing and well written. John Ringo has done it again!
