Early in the 25th century, humans ignited a fierce war with the hydrogues. Now the gas-giant planets, once a major source of fuel for Earth, are off limits, and the fearsome hydrogues scour the solar system, incinerating humans and the trees of the worldforest. As political unrest spreads throughout Earth's space colonies, a possible ally is discovered: an ancient race of water-based creatures. But is it too late to stop the war?
Forest of Stars is a breathtaking science fiction epic, encompassing the power of galactic politics and the poetry of private dreams. Audie Award-winning narrator Geroge Guidall voices each character, whether human or alien, with dramatic intensity in a work that seems written for audio.
Don't miss a minute of the action in Kevin J. Anderson's Saga of Seven Suns.

"Best seller Anderson turns up the heat in his second Saga of the Seven Suns installment, proving he has firepower to burn. He weaves action, romance and science with a rousing plot reflecting the classic SF of Clarke and Herbert and the glossy cinematic influence of Lucas and Spielberg....This saga soars." (Publishers Weekly)
Absolutley amazing follow up to a phenomonal beginning. I have become a permenant fan of Anderson, and cannot wait till I read the 3rd book in the series.
Again the reader Guidall is the best in the business in my own opinion so this just puts an amazing book over the top... I would give the entire series 6 stars if I could.
The characters are continually developing throughout this story and build into a terrific saga. I'm really looking forward to the next part of this series.
Less characters, less planets, less races. In hold it in your hands book form it may track better, just way to confusing for me.
Not enough difference in character voices to help keep them all straight.
I kept confusing the characters with similar sounding names.
I've gone through every audio book in the series and have the next one on order. Kevin Anderson has created a wonderful universe full of intrigue, plot twists, romance, interspecies conflict and cooperation, and adventure. It has been fun to hear, and that is part of what any fiction is all about. These are all fun books which are well worth reading if you like science fiction. I highly recommend the Saga of Seven Sun series to all who love science fiction. Its not hard science based, but it is very entertaining.
I loved this book! The events and the characters just kept getting more interesting and I found myself getting drawn more and more to the characters. As soon as I finished it I got the next one in the series.
Its sweep is enormous and things, as in real life, are often not as they were believed to be. The reader is great, the story is great and the characters are multi-faceted. What else could one ask of a book?
This story is fast paced and great fun to listen too. Like te first book it tells several parallel stories that get woven into a tight fabric. Well read and just an excellent story. I just picked up the third book... I can hardly wait for the download to complete.
The 1st of the series was disappointing, but I hoped that the 2nd book would gain momentum. Unfortunately it just wandered along at the same unfocused pace. Interesting concepts but the characters are vague, and it just never makes the leap from a fair story to good or great one.
AND for some reason the author chooses to constantly refresh our memories on various storyline points, really annoying.
I got hooked on this series when Kevin J. Anderson was giving away free signed hardcover editions of the first book in the series, Hidden Empire. I really like his writing style and his Saga of Seven Suns universe is incredibly imaginative. The third book, Horizon Storms, has been released so I hope Audible gets it soon.
I'm a BIG science fiction fan, and I can truthfully say that this is one of the best books that I've come across. Kevin Anderson has an interesting writing style with VERY long books, but short chapters. (I haven't read any other books by Kevin Anderson, so I don't know if all of his books are so large or if was specific to this series.) The short chapters keep the action going and keep things interesting.
