narrator is excellent

took a while to finish but still a great story with different characters. I recommend it

It hurts me, I can't finish it

before you pay the dollar bucks on this title (or the next few as I did using my credits up), ensure that you are happy to be completely disrupted by Roy Dotrice doing a 180 turn on some key characters.

I could let the accent differences change between family members slide based on the pure number of characters to assign accents but the switches on Arya and Jamie along with others I'm sure is too much. I simply can't do it.
Arya and all her family are northerners, Dotrice chose standard English accents for them, neutral and easy to work with. I have no idea how the Monty Python style version came through on this one. it's sad as I love spending my driving time lost in this world.

I've read it all and watched it so I can let it go but if you are locked in, get ready for a bumpy ride.

the guy reading the book does stupid annoying sounds for certain characters and it drives me insane sometimes with the noises. super annoying and ruins parts of the reading.

Omg!! So many details that were left out of the series!! Cat coming back from the dead?!?!!! Love this series!!!

Narrator Discrepancies

For all the books up to this one the voices stayed the same. When it got to A Feast for Crows some characters had different voices and the narrator made minor changes to names of characters. Brienne turned to Brianne and Catelyn to Caitlin.

The story and reading are excellent

Roy Dotrice brings life to Martin’s characters in vivid detail. They only thing I don’t like is they way he does Women’s voices. It’s a great performance despite that.

Roy Dotrice is great as always but docking a star for changing the voice of Dokorous Edd

Good continuation of the song, particularly Brienne’s bits are favorites of mine. We’ll read too!

great books, awful narrator

I hate this narrator, but the books are great. The guy only knows like 10 voices and just uses them randomly for any given character. Yeah sure, let's have Arya talk like a gruff old Irishman rather than a 10 year old highborn girl.

He also constantly changes character accents or his pronunciations of certain words/names throughout the books. How does he not have a director/producer/audio engineer working with him to keep him consistent?

Great read and narrator does a good job

Overall the book is great enjoyed listening/reading it. Although I was surprised that it did not have much about Daenerys in this one. It definitely provided more information and things you missed if you watched the series.
