What happened to the old voices?

Roy changed a few voices for the worse, namely Arya and Littlefinger, though Jaime sounded less gruff and therefore marginally improved. Dunno why some pronunciations were changed, perhaps to be more in keeping with the show? (this was produced in 2011)

Not as good as Clash, but still great

only complaint is that the voices are inconsistent with the other books, but still a great performance.

Previous reviews on point

I thought the reviews of the performance were a little harsh when I read them, but after listening to the story I believe them to be on point. Let me say I'm not picky when it comes to narrators. I listen to most books at 3x speed and slight inconsistencies don't usually bother me. The voices of characters were off as well as pronunciations. I had a hard time getting past the pronunciation of Lord Petyr's name. In previous books it was pronounced Petar and this book it was Peter. I enjoyed the story, but was disappointed by the narration.

Good, but a little disjointed. Also, Roy changed some of his accents and that threw me off at first.

A great listen

Great book, takes a little getting used too especially if you are used to the TV show but otherwise good.

not the best GoT, but still good

dotrice (narrator) changed voices of many characters which was kind of unnecessary and confusing if you listened to the previous 100+ hours of the series. cant help but feel they dont fit the characters as well. cersei is intolerable character, and is hard to listen to at times, but this may be desired effect. story still had a lot of momentum and good character development. the ironborn/reever storyline is developed to great effect.

Good but voices were different.

Voices were off from previous books. I really preferred the voices from the first couple of books.

This episode of the book was just as good as the last. was very surprised to see all the negative comments, it's been 6 years guys since the last one was recorded, yes there were some changes in the character voices. but the essence of the characters remained, except for Jaime and tyrion who under went some very traumatic and life changing developments. I loved it!

Roy Dotrice brings the book to life!

the narrator is AMAZING! highly recommend listening if you are a game of thrones fan!
