A bit disappointed about the performance

This is not the Roy Dotrice from the first three books. He changed some of the characters' voices. High born people sound like street urchins and others sound like a drunk Winston Churchill. The story continues but is definitely feathered out into many unfinished subplots. Of course, I will buy the next book the see the story come to a conclusion; and that's what this book feels like: just a teaser and a bridge book to the next one.

I enjoyed this book and yes, even the performance as much as the rest. If you are committed to this series, absolutely keep going and don't be frightened off by the negative reviews.

I find that series usually start to suffer at around book 3 or 4. No difference here, but I'd say the drop-off is negligible. Lots of new characters are introduced (keeping it fresh and interesting, in my estimation) so be prepared for that, and some old favorites don't appear much or at all in this installment (Arya, Tyrion). But others (Jon, Sam, Brienne) do. And I certainly get the feeling that the

Read the book in hard cover and enjoyed it as an audio book on my commute to work. George R R Martin is the master and Roy Dotrice adds his magic narrating.

A Feast For Crows Book 4 Game of Thrones

It is good, great writing, well acted and sad, but keeps you on the edge of your seat and you are sadden when it ends. I was surprised by the length of this book and so sad to see it go because that means that I am almost at an end of the Game. I know that I will immediately restart the series over when I have completed book 5.

Great story telling, slow development of events...

Pace of the 4th book is a little on the slow side and with several of the main characters missing, this book doesn't deserve the 5 stars I'd give the first 3 books. Roy Dotrice makes it all worthwhile though, stunning narrator who will keep you hooked regardless!
