Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn...

Critic reviews

"Amid all the Sturm und Drang...is a finely tuned comic strain that both leavens the story and adds to its development. This latest installment of a major fantasy epic definitely will not disappoint its fans." (Booklist)

I am really trying to get into this book

I have to say the beginning was great you really got caught into the story and it seemed so much better than the last book, which kind of dragged on for a bit but this book isn't any different unfortunately, I feel like a lot of the story is just has so much fluff and you don't need so much constantly. I'm constantly skipping just to get to the good part to see like what is actually happening instead of listening to descriptions of what's going around or when someone is throwing a fit, it's rather childish at times but I'm hoping it will get much much better.

it was a very good book

Let me first say, that I'm a die hard fan! I love the overall concept so I'm always willing to wait for the drama to unfold! I enjoyed the way things went down... Certain characters got what they deserved! Certain scenes were a bit anticlimactic, but I believe that this book was setting foundation.... As far as characters go, The dark one take Perrin and Fiael, I hate hos jealous crazy wife!... OMG, and Matt and Nineve, I can't think of which one I hate more! I just wanted to snatch that braid out of her head since book one and Matt's self righteous attitude and that annoying voice! He only thinks of Matt and when he does think of think of the greater good he wants a medal!...I hate how they all get on Rands case, but have no idea what it's like to go though what he does, but I hate how he makes it hard to support him at times by not sharing and confiding in at least 1 person! He gets mean at times it one person truly understood, it might be better.

The turning point in the the series

love the series but this is the point that Jordan loved the series too much and started stretching instead of moving towards the ending

Good story, wished its telling was better.

Getting real tired of the "men and women may as well be different species" vibes the author gives off.

Especially uncomfortable given the fact that a woman in power literally rapes a minor and it's supposed to be humorous because it's a woman doing it to a man.

the Crown..

I loved this book. I will say that this book wasn't much of a departure from previous installments. Mat is your favorite, perrin is kinda boring and Rand is Rand.

AMAZING. Period.

The WOT is the long type of story readers expect. From beginning to end, the story changes in circumstance as the wheel weaves. Each book thus far has been as entertaining as the previous and before to the first. Amazing this far.

Not the best book, not the worse

To be honest, he keeps ruining the endings. Why does he keep rushing the endings like that?
