Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn...

Critic reviews

"Amid all the Sturm und Drang...is a finely tuned comic strain that both leavens the story and adds to its development. This latest installment of a major fantasy epic definitely will not disappoint its fans." (Booklist)

good book but poorly edited

so I love the book and I love the narrators but the editing was very bad there were multiple times where the narrator had to repeat a section because they emphasized the wrong part or missed a word and that wasn't edited out so you get a entire sentence or two repeated probably 15 times throughout the book and that really breaks the flow

Great Book

I have enjoyed this series since picking it up. Robert Jordan does a great job of describing each scene in detail.

The voice editing has been somewhat lacking in books six and seven. For one, the voice actors changed the pronunciation of a major character. I just wish they could have decided on the pronunciation before any recording was done. My second issue is with sound editing. In this book many of the voice lines get repeated, which is very odd when listened to straight through. It sounds as though they were meant as a break point, like a commercial break or something. It's not going to make me stop listening, but for as much as each of these books costs you would think they would have better editing than that.

Great book but audio went out of sequence

This audiobook is fantastic.

Only reason for 4/5 on performance is that the audio goes out of sequence at one point... very small and only happens once but was very confusing. Happens at the end of chapter 11 and I’m chapter 12

Can't stop!

Drags a bit in the beginning (but that's been almost every other book in this series) but as always the ending really made me excited to start the next one!

Another Wheel Turned

This is my second time through this series. I love the story and the books but when you get mid way through the series like this it gets pretty plodding. I could have skipped half this one and probably will in the next one. But another great end.

Previous performances were better

What's up with Elaine's accent? It sounds like some genius decided that a bad English accent sounds more regal. It's very off-putting and pulls you out of the story.

Good but not great

First off the story, it's good and some major moments happen in this book. However it's not one of the high points in the series.

Only one real quibble with this audio book, it was likely put together from the original CDs. there's a couple times where a line repeats itself. it's incredibly annoying but fortunately it only happens a handful of times.
