To become queen, she must bear a child before Cel can father one of his own. But havoc lies on the horizon: people are dying in mysterious, frightening ways, and suddenly the very existence of the place known as Faerie is at grave risk. "Hamilton weaves the modern and magical seamlessly in a compelling tale of the effects of three kinds of power - magical, sexual, and the most dangerous, political." ( Booklist)

I just can't get enough of the Meredith Gentry Series. It contains all aspects I crave Fantasy, Romance, Drama, Action, and Humor sprinkled throughout each climaxing novel. I often find myself longing to be part "She" so much so that I'd gladly except relations to the lesser Fey. Laurell K Hamilton I salute your ability to weave a tale that makes me want to pay almost anything just to get my next fix.

The Nameless and the Narrator

I have to say when I read this series I liked this book better than the first even. We learn more about the fey and Merry's men and there's a really neat twist for the "bad guy". So, thankfully the story is the same so that's why the 4 stars. The narrator is not so great. She doesn't take the time to learn how to pronouce things properly and that's a really annoying habit in a narrator. Her inflection and voices improved though so I'm hoping by the end of the series she'll be able to do a decent job. Thank goodenss this was whisperlink and only $3.99. Not a credit worthy performance otherwise.

Love the story! Don't love the Narrator.

It always takes me out of the story when names or words in general aren't pronounced properly, and there are too many words/names said wrong in this performance. I haven't gotten used to this voice being Merry (a little too old sounding) and it definitely makes the Darkness sound ridiculous. I can understand a level of difficulty a female voice may have perfecting a male voice, but c'mon!! The men sound like slow, angry members of the Lollipop Guild!

This is a fun romp through Fairy

Take yourself on a trip to an alternate america where all the hosts of fairy immegrated here and co-exist with humans. The Princess makes her living as a detective so that she won't be beholden to the un-seeley court for her living. Princess Meridith with her harem of Guards is in LA protecting an ex-goddess from the rath of the head of the Seely court because of a secret.

Laural Merlington does an excelent job in giving different voices to all the charaters and pulling you into the story.

"Some choices you make with your heart..."

"...some with your head but when in doubt choose head over heart...". This book will make you love it, every little aspect of it. You have a way of slowly falling in love with each character the way the protagonist does, and you don't even realize it. I read this book almost 10 years ago and decided to re visit. So I know what is coming and I'm still drinking it up! I'm in love with this series and I there was no doubt in my mind that when it comes to these books, I choose correctly every time.

Very good follow up

the writing gets better and thought easier to follow. The story line advances though the stronger feelings for one guy with her in particular, Frost, has been not fully translated to me as the reader.

Love it!

Where does A Caress of Twilight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would say this book is second only to the first in the series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I absolutely adore Meredith Gentry, but her cast of guards make the story compelling for me.

What does Laural Merlington bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Laural Merlington accentuates the personality quirks of the characters, making them real, distinct, and powerful. She brings the whole cast to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh out loud countless times. There are emotional moments, and steamy moments, but the interactions between the characters make for some memorable scenes.

Any additional comments?

I am SO glad that these books were my first exposure to audiobooks. I can't stop listening. I am hooked.
