mixed emotions

Great character development, riveting mystery. Sci fi went too far too fast with too many unresolved subjects, though. Entertaining nonetheless.

Fantastic book - completely unpredictable !

Would you listen to 14 again? Why?

Definitely. Like all good mystery novels, you want to go back and read the story again and appreciate the setup, the clues and the characters. With my first listen I just wanted to find out what happened next, now I want to enjoy it for the story.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked it when they were exploring the rooms as I could imagine myself doing exactly the same thing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wasn't expecting the end of this book and I was also completely surprised by apartment 14. All of the surprises were welcome and while theres a few plot holes and way out stuff happening, i found that if I didn't overthink things and just went with it, I really had a fun listen.

Fantastic story

This goes a lot further into the sci-fi realm than I expected but it was very good. A great matchup of mystery, adventure, sci-fi, and drama with a touch of steam punk.

I actually liked it

I read the reviews but I actually enjoyed the book and the way the characters were developed. Yes, the sci-fi aspect was different but it was still pretty good. Some folks need to lighten up a bit. Fiction is supposed to pull you away from reality for a reason. As far fetched as the sqwales may be; the book was still worth listening to. The narrator was outstanding.

Different. Interesting, but definitely different!

This is my new favorite narrator! His control of the different character's voices is nothing short of masterful!

The story itself is a journey into one's imagination of the impossible, and maybe rewarding the reader with a return trip. No one escapes completely unscathed, even if all you get to hang onto is your life.

WHAT A GREAT MYSTERY TO BE SWEPT INTO

Into weird environments?*ok*..Enjoy interesting characters? *ok*...Need to feel nearly there in the story*oh yes*....ive enjoyed every minute of this mindbender-from the lead character intro to the unbelievable ending!

imaginative

Love this audio. I'm now a Clines fan. loved the tie in to a previous book. narration did an awesome job keeping the characters fresh and their personalities distinguishable.

All is not how it seems

No. I thought that it went on way too long. They should have stopped it before they went to the alternative universe.

overall, good. got kind of weird near the end

the story was really good and really exciting early on. but the latter 1/3 started to get a bit incredulous. Reminded me of the Bruce Willis Die Hard series, where he just keeps getting injured and cut up and injured, and yet he can still keep on going!
