Quirky, laugh out loud and edge of seat thrilling - all wrapped together!
This book took a few chapters to get me hooked but soon, without my even noticing the transition, I found myself completely immersed in it! 14 has it all; great writing, interesting plot, witty humor, gripping suspense and - the “piece de resistance” - an excellent narrator!
Well worth the money and the two solid days I spent with ear buds glued to my head!

This was a good listen
This was a good listen. I’m not a huge sci-fi listener but every and then it’s good for a change. The story was good the reader did a very good job. The end was a bit predictable. All in all I liked it.

Fine
This book has such great promise. I was quite invested with great character development. However, once all the potentially spooky stuff was illuminated and the "action" heated up at the end, I was disappointed and couldn't wait for it to be over. I like sci-fi, but this was half-baked.
Narrator was great, though.

What happened to the pet food
The book: It is a very good read. It does not explode until chapter 40+ but you do not get bored. It's really great. I love using audible because I can read while I am driving, swimming, exercising, or at work; and still accomplish other tasks.
The story: I was guessing the whole time. I never figured it out. It's clever and unique. It offers a lot of explanation but also lets you guess some things too. There is one point where Oscar goes to get pet food and returns but it's never mentioned upon his return. It seems to be a small overlook. Anyways. I loved it.
The reader: amazing. I love a female reader but Ray Porter hits the nail on the head. He kept my interest. I find it easier to not get distracted by a woman's voice. I have no clue why. Ray Porter uses accents and pitch and really sells each character. He is great. Looking to listen to more books by Ray.
