Publisher's summary

Twenty-one surgeries by age 13. Years in the hospital. Verbal and physical bullying from schoolmates. Multiple miscarriages as a young wife. The death of a child. A debilitating progressive disease. Riveting pain. Abandonment. Unwanted divorce.

Vaneetha Rendall Risner begged God for grace that would deliver her. But God offered something better: his sustaining grace.

In The Scars That Have Shaped Me, Vaneetha does more than share her stories of pain; she invites other sufferers to taste with her the goodness of a sovereign God who will carry us in our darkest of days.

Incredible Truths!!

I was very impressed and found the personal experiences and feelings shared relatable, since I am also a disabled woman. I also enjoyed how she shared God’s truth in His Word in a way that gave me a new perspective and was thought provoking! I definitely recommend this book!!

When long term suffering becomes too hard

I’ve been on a long journey that has had me one day running the race towards Christ like if I was running in the Olympics, and other times I feel like I’m drowning and dying in sorrow. This book is exactly what I needed. I needed reminders that what I feel when I’m angry/sad/scared/hopeless it is normal to feel, but also reminds me about previous moments when I’ve taken it God and seen His Glory in how He heals me. As Vaneetha spoke I kept doing double takes remembering how God has walked me in my journey. It’s like she knew all the different roller coaster rides I’ve been on this past decade.

Vaneetha walks us through a behind the scenes of 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 ❤️

So Encouraging

This is a must read for the sufferer. Very encouraging. Im listening to it again! Thank you To the author who didnt shrink back and hide the lessons her suffering taught her. We all need to do that for the building up of the saints and for the Glory of our Lord.
