Publisher's summary
The O'Brien family once again finds themselves ensconced in a criminal investigation when a young asylum seeker washes ashore on Dublin's rocky coast.
Cormac Carrington relocated to Ireland to be closer to his O'Brien kin. While exploring employment opportunities, he offers pro-bono legal aid for asylum seekers and unaccompanied children who have evacuated their homes in Ukraine. During a fundraising gala, he crosses paths with a beautiful Italian woman. They will both be pulled into the intrigue of a detained woman and her missing little brother.
Set in a sprawling European city, the worldwide sickness of human trafficking will touch the O'Brien family, and they will band together to save one small child. Cormac will prove his mettle by shielding a young, shattered woman with the only weapon he has: the law.

Story
The knight was supposed to be a man. Not me, Sophie MacKnight, a marketing associate from California. This must be a practical joke that the Scots play on visiting Americans. Because otherwise I’ve inherited a haunted castle in Scotland, along with one irritatingly sexy Scotsman. Frankly, I thought I would fly here, sell the heap of bricks, and head back home to a life that I…well, I was comfortable with at the very least. Instead, the people of Loren Brae are in trouble, and it appears that as the new owner of the castle, I’m next in line to reinstate the magickal Order of Caledonia.

Her whole life has been spent playing by the rules, and for what? An empty apartment, a career with no upward movement, and one failed relationship after another. When it all blows up in her face, what’s a girl to do but book a last-minute trip to the ridiculously named Laughing Mermaid Bed & Breakfast on an unknown speck of an island in the Caribbean?

Imogen, captain of the Irish charter boat, Mystic Pirate, has little time for friends and doesn’t trust her lovers. Perhaps the real issue is that she can’t trust herself, as she hasn’t yet found a good explanation for why otherworldly images dance before her eyes. Half-convinced that she is one step away from losing her mind, just like her mother, Imogen prefers to spend her life at sea with the only family she knows—her crew members.

Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. Lily Fleury used to love visiting her eccentric grandmother Sylvia in Ireland, taking long sunset walks on the beach and exploring the nooks and crannies of the family’s old home Magnolia Manor. But when she arrives from Dublin broken-hearted, hoping to heal in Sylvia’s warm embrace, she finds the once ornate Georgian house in disrepair and the gardens wildly overgrown. Sylvia has always been fiercely independent, but Lily can’t believe she hasn’t told anyone she’s been struggling.

Wow! A wonderful Intertwined O’Brien Story!
What a beautiful storyline that wove together the O’Brien family. The cousin, McCormick and the Italian connection through Antonio by way of Liam and Izzy is so well done. Each family member was represented. I feel as if I have lived life with this fictional family. In tjis story, the family in Dublin are working to solve a case and the cousin is drawn in to help. The Italian guest adds interest and opportunity for new love.
Well done, the writing and dialogue are always authentic and real. An enjoyable read!!

Exactly what I was expecting and completely happy with it
As is typical with the Stacey Reynolds a d Justine Eyre collaboration, Sanctuary is all I hoped it would be. Justine Eyre's performance brings to life the O'Brien universe that Stacey has created. The storyline is sadly pertinent of the events of this troubled world, but told without terrorizing. It also has the element of hope with some sad foreshadowing. Kudos to both.

Unparalleled multigenerational love story woven with deep layers and mystery
Love Stacey Reynolds’s O’Brien Tales series. This book was just as incredible or better than the previous 10. This series transports you to Ireland and makes you feel like you know all the characters as if they’re your best friends. I’m quite certain that when I travel to Ireland, I just may see and hear them at the local pub in Doolin. Highly recommend!!!
