Charming

This was an intentionally funny story. I did not think Barbara Rosenblatt was the best voice for this character. She captured the comedic aspect but not the romance.

Smoking narrator

The narrator of this novel consistently clears her throat and smacked her lips and speaks with a middle-aged smokers voice this ruins the characterization for me to the point that I cannot listen to this author when narrated by this narrator. The story is good and funny, and the narrator does a good job with voices, but the way she speaks is so annoying and to me it is like listening to fingers on the chalkboard. I will read these books rather than listen. I look forward to listening to any other book by this author as long as it is narrated by someone whose voice is not ruined by a life of smoking.

Love the book, narrator is meh

What did you love best about You Slay Me?

I like the book, but the narrator sounds like she is sucking on a cough drop. I dunno, but something was making mouth noises. Overall, good story, beware the mouth noise.

Awful Narration

Don't know if I'll even be able to finish this book. I actually wish I could return it. The narration is horrible, the woman sounds as if she's chewing or eating something between sentences.

Narration was horribly disappointing

The slurping, swallowing, and other general mouth noises were distracting. Narrator sounded geriatric & out-of-character.

Terrific entertainment!

Barbara Rosenblat did a wonderful job of portraying all of the characters in "You Slay Me" with excellent skill. Each voice/personality was performed with distinction. Katie MacAlister, once again, wrote a humerus mystery that offered twists and laughs that fulfilled exactly what I was in the mood for. I ended up listening to the entire book in one day because I enjoyed it so much.

Great story. Did NOT like the narrator.

I actually read this series in a book format before. I thought it would be fun to listen to during my long work commutes. I really disliked the narrator. Even though she had a descent attempt at different accents, her voice was too harsh for the character. And she kept swallowing constantly, which killed it for me.

I love Katie's books!

Katie has a wonderful story line that keeps you laughing and wanting to continue to listen. the only thing I did not like was the narrator..her voice just doesnt match up with the character's in my opinion and it constantly sounds like she is chewing gum which is very annoying to listen to..

Best Romantic/paranormal Comedy

I haven’t laughed so hard or fallen in love with an author’s work in years. Katie MacAlister is a gem. I don’t know how I have overlooked her work until now.
This book has the fun of Janet Evanovitch’s Plumb series, and Molly Harper’s. Half Moon Hollow, all rolled into one. I am so looking forward to reading the next in MacAlister’s series.
