Lora Leigh's Wolfe's Hope is taken from the Primal Heat anthology and constitutes the 10th book in Leigh's Wolf Breeds series. The futuristic novella opens with the probable death of the genetically altered "Wolfe" in a lab explosion immediately after the man-wolf "marks" Hope forever. But now it's six years later. Will Wolfe return for his mate? Will their love defeat the cunning machinations of Hope's mad scientist mother?
Maxine Mitchell performs every line of this audiobook with a ripe balance of drama and sensuality. Action and erotica are equally at home in Mitchell's microphone. She can voice sneering villains as well as lustful, animalistic lovers.
Book one in the series Wolf Breeds
Hope believed Wolfe was dead, but he was only waiting for the right time to claim her. The scientist who created him, Hope's mother, has forced his hand. She wants her creation back, and she wants any children he may breed on her daughter.
He is a man whose DNA was altered, infused with the genetic code of the wolf. His unique genetic makeup has created a male unlike any other and will make itself known in the most surprising ways. Now Hope must convince her mate she hasn't betrayed him, and they must defeat the plans of a scientist gone mad.

I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Love Lora Leigh... and this is my first breeds book... (believe it or not)...
I will definitely be going back to listen to the Feline Breeds and will be getting all of the Wolf Breeds...
I just hope all of the breeds continue on this path.. there is like 99 of them... lol :)
The concept behind this story is great. It is similar to Chritine Freehan's Ghostwalkers only with the animal enhancement. There didn't seem to be any depth to the characters, just a short story to talk dirty and get "off" seemed to be the idea. Disappointed? yes, being a member of Audible for as long as I have there are not may books left to read, and its hard to find new entertainment. I'm thinking Lora Leigh can write better, but is to focused on using shock words instead of pulling the story into a cohesive HEA or Cliffhanger. Recommend this book? I really don't know. It is a 2 hr story for 4 bucks. if you don't mind filthy talk/listen with little story, I'll say go for it. will I listen to anyother of the series, again I really can't say.
I really enjoyed Maxine Mitchell's narration of Wolfe's Hope. It was very smooth and the voice modulations for the various characters in the story was spot on.
Lora Leigh's breed series is one of my favorites. The relationship between the heroine and the hero is usually complicated and interesting. Ms Leigh also creates truly evil villains. In this particular story, the villain is the female scientist Delila Bainsworth who actually uses her own daughter to breed with Wolfe. Spoiler, she does get her comeuppance at the end and you can't help but cheer. I highly recommend this book and series.
I am getting very tired of these men who supposedly love these women and use the mating heat against them to gain their submission. Wolfe' Hope takes this to a new low. Wolfe reenters Hope's life, kidnaps her and sexually torments her for hours. All this because he is tricked into thinking in the SIX years that he let her believe he was dead that she had another lover. After he has done this for hours, causing her great pain due to the heat and keeping her tied up and having anal sex, he is going to leave for an hour to "get himself under control so he doesn't hurt her." Say what??
When they finally have sex and he knots her he says that never happened to him before. Does this mean way back when or has he not been faithful to Hope for the last six years. We don't know and the doormat, I mean mate, doesn't ask.
So after six years with no word, kid napping her, torturing her, and only fully believing her when her mother verifies that she has not been with another man, all is forgiven because she was able to achieve mini climaxes during the torture. Really.
The narrator does well with women voices, but her men speak very slowly and distinctly. It is quite annoying after awhile and I can never get into the male characters in her books because of this.
I am into the series and will continue to read the books, but this one was a huge disappointment.
This was a quick easy listen. Was not my favorite though. I don't really feel like I got to know the characters and what I did learn did not make me root for them. I don't know. Something was just off to me about this book. With that being said, I enjoy reading books by this author. This book was just not for me.
It had some good back ground information about the characters but lacked substance in depth. I would have liked to have seen more plot development with this particular set of characters.
I listen to about 60 books a year. I'm dyslexic so reading with my eyes is difficult. ignore my spelling...I have passion.
SPOILER ALERT! What kind of woman get's kidnapped by the man she loves then raped and tortured by him for "hours"...then forgives he just because he say baby while they have sex (simplified event)...really??! The heroine is so weak in my mind by chapter 7...I don't want to hear from Door-mat girl!
No...I've listened to others...but this one ...yuch.
huh!??! I kept hoping she'd get up from that bed and kick his but...but after hours of his "care" she said Why didn't you come for me when you escaped? after 5 more minutes of that crap, I stopped listening.
The title is VERY cool...that's why I gave it 2 stars instead of one...I love the author an narrator...but the story line
Women DON't forgive the level or sexual torture he provided no matter how much we love, unless we are trained to be abused. She had been on her own for 6 years...she should have been as strong as a TREE!!
Ok not my favorite book. Really not even in my 10 of "WORST BOOK." THIS AUTHOR NEEDS WORD COUNT & a DICTIONARY. One that gives you more than 1 option. Along with that WTI. ON AND ON ON ON WOOPS I WAS day dreaming of a book that didn't have either of the above.
The idea is great and I think with strong editor's and maybe a another reader, this series would be way way exciting. I wouldn't buy it or use a credit but only a free credit. Bummer I already read other books so I am stuck. Now I just had to know
