Gillian Fitzpatrick had responsibilities, commitments; her brother had disappeared and she was frightened and desperate. Trace was her only hope. He had the connections, the expertise, and the guts. But just what was she going to have to do to convince him to help her?

This turned out to be a very enjoyable and quick read for me, as I listened to it from start to finish in one day with just a couple of short breaks. Trace O’Hurley, the leading man is a government spy who sometimes takes on private missions and is approached by Dr. Gillian Fitzpatrick who begs him to help her find her physicist brother and his 6 yr. old daughter who were kidnapped by some terrorists who want him to complete development of some new technology for them. At first Trace and Gillian are at odds with each other and their Irish tempers often get the better of them, but a spark ignites and they eventually discover they are just perfect for each other. The book has some interesting and fun twists which keep the book from getting boring in any way. Definitely kept my interest throughout and I recommend it for anyone who likes Nora Roberts books. If you haven’t read Nora Roberts before, this might be a good first listen. Then, you can go on to read her many other ones.
This book was the best out of the 4 book series - by far! The voices were pretty good considering all the accents performed. The story line was a shock after reading the first 3 books in this series - didn't see that coming. You need to read the series in order to get the full effect.
Light & fluffy story, a good beach read. The narrator's interpretation of the various accents was painful! Almost made me stop listening.
this was a wonderful exciting, adventure love story made so much better by the narrators excellent dialects. I enjoy reading Nora Roberts had read many of her books sometime they are formulaic. But this one was very exciting and I was not able to put it down finished it in one day. This audio book is so exciting mostly due to the excellent narrator, she give distinct character to each of the OHurleys and for that reason I want to read/ listen to the rest of the series
This book was a waste of time. Not only was the story line boring and without enough gripping background, but the characters lack chemistry. The love interest is shallow and there isn't any pull toward one another, yet they end up in a romance. It is simply terrible writing. I listen to many books & this ranks at the bottom. Do not purchase.
ok, granted I haven't finished this. I will, but just out of morbid curiosity. The narrator speaks in some sort of breathless voice that manages to sound condescending. I've never read Nora Roberts before, so maybe I'm just not a fan, but the cliches just go on and on. I thought it was going to be a detective/spy/murder mystery. Turns out it's a romance and the mystery is secondary to the two main characters first hating each other, than realizing they can't be apart. Haven't I read that before somewhere? This might have been better as a "real" book, rather than an audio, because then I could have gone through it more quickly. Now, I'm at the mercy of the narrator. I'll use my credits more wisely in the future!
This is the 4th book in this series. I did read this one last and it wasn't as good as the first three. It finishes out the story of this family.
Love Nora Roberts and this story did not disappoint. Really enjoyed it. Would have been better with a different narrator. Marie Caliendo did not do the story justice.
