To win her heart, he'll be in for the fight of his life.
After an illegal kick during a CFA title fight fractures Cole Easton's spine, doctors say there's nothing more they can do for the bitter Vegas fighter. They say it's a miracle he can walk, if that's what you call his crutch-dragging limp. Unwilling to give up on him, Cole's manager sends the injured fighter to the best physical therapist he knows: his niece, Katie Miller. When Cole arrives in the small town of Somerset, Wisconsin, he quickly discovers his sly manager may have had reasons other than rehab for sending him to this frozen tundra.
After a year of running from an abusive ex-boyfriend, Katie has returned to her hometown to care for her father, who's recovering from a stroke. When Uncle Marcus calls in a favor, she reluctantly finds herself taking on a rancorous MMA fighter, broken at the height of his career. He's insanely sex-on-a-stick hot - and everything she loathes in a man.
If Cole thinks his fighting days are over, he's dead wrong. To save Katie from her past and to win her heart, he'll be in for the fight of his life.

I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Welcome to an all new Cage Fighter series and it certainly kicks off with a very entertaining first book that throws a lot into a good storyline. Drop dead gorgeous Cole needs a miracle and that's just what he gets when he's sent to rehab with the beautiful Physio Katie but it wasn't just his broken body that she eventually healed, it was his whole way of life..... but it came at a very high price.
The listen starts off well describing Cole's victory and tragic downfall, attraction and chemistry are then added to the mix which ups the listen, Katie's broken spirit, terrible past, mental and physical scars are soon revealed and, by this time, you're hooked into a good listen with likeable characters. Then the ever increasing looming danger in the present slowly slips in created by her mad, bad and scary ex which mixes things up, added to that are the inner turmoils of "should I say I love you", then a secret is overheard which leads to broken trust, drama, heartache and pain. This leaves you with a listen that has a tender romance as a physically broken Cole tries to heal a mentally broken Katie and vice versa, there's some sweet/tender and also a frantic sex scene and it concludes in a pulse-pounding confrontation of tears, bloodshed, death and heartache. But thankfully the Epilogue will leave you with a smile on your face.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, good narration, a bit of unrealistic healing time but hey ho this is fiction after all right!, nevertheless a very captivating story and YES it would've been worth a credit but my under $10 rule applied so I just bought it saving the credit for a pricier but maybe not as enjoyable listen. So, an entertaining and enjoyable listen at a bargain price.
I thourouly enjoyed book. it was a captivating love story with a thriller thrown in of crazy town ex! great story line, I did find that I would have to rewind 20 seconds every so often bc some bombshells would be thrown in and I would get lost, but then I would here some really great one liners several times over! Def worth an upgrade in audio from kindle or credit!
I LOVE A GOOD BOOK!!!
I was very skeptical about getting this book. This is my first time reading /listening to this author. This book just grabbed me and I'm glad I held on! Great story line likeable characters. Worth a credit or credit card...
I love losing myself in books of any kind
This is my first MMA book and I must say I truly enjoyed this book. I don't tend to go for the damsel in distress but the author did a pretty good job telling her story.
Both of the main characters had issues to resolve though Kat's problem was more intense.
Kat's was a little too victim for me but understand her background I can't say it is not aligned to how abuse victims may think and feel.
I like that Cole found something else in his life worth is effort. He was my favorite in this book .... The alpha male take charge kind of man, with the understanding that he needed a gentle touch for Kat.
While I am not a huge fan of audio books (I want to finish the book not put them down), I really enjoyed this one. Not only does the story line pull you in, it has revelations along the way. This is my first audio with two readers and that was fantastic, each took on the character to make them come to life.
Highly recommend, this is more of building romance and trust vs many of the just fall in to bed with the hot guy.
One cannot help getting personally invested in this " hitting too close to home" tale of overcoming hardships; learning to trust; and recognizing the value of what is truly important in life.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
The cover and blurb were what caught my interest and having never read anything by this author I decided to give it a go and found it to be an enjoyable listen, even with the delicate topic of abuse that dominates the book. While I would have liked a little more on the MMA/Cage fighting aspect what was in the book I thought was well done and the way that the author tackled and presented the issue of abuse and how it can rule the way a person thinks, feels and just lives day to day, as well as how it affects those around them in a realistic way.
Katrina/Katie/Kat is a likeable character. She’s witty. strong and intelligent even though she is damaged on the inside on the most fundamental of levels. Her ability to pick herself up and continuing to live is admirable even though there were times where I questioned the decisions she made when it came to her situation with her stalker ex, but couldn’t fault her for choosing the path she did. Cole I actually adored. When we first meet him, he is definitely cranky, but there is a reason and anyone in his shoes would be acting in the same way. As the story progresses we get to see that while he is an MMA/CFA star, he’s also down to earth and has a very realistic outlook on life and the that he wants to help Katie, not just because he’s interested in her or that she’s his managers niece, but because he really does like her and doesn’t want her to have to live the nightmare anymore was what made me like him even more.
Cole and Katie’s relationship has a lot of ups and downs due to a variety of factors from their working relationship, Cole’s career and the abuse that Katie suffered at the hands of her stalker Ex boyfriend, so the roller coaster feel of it felt right. There were some great light and fun moments where you could feel the chemistry between the two and the way Cole did his best to help Katie when her past caught up with her really showed what kind of man he is.
My only issue is that we didn’t get to experience more of Cole’s road to recovery. There is some in the beginning and then he’s better. Going through physical therapy is long and tedious and I could see how it could slow the pace of the story down, but I’d have liked just a little more on that end.
Overall: This is an enjoyable listen and I have the next book downloaded.
Neva Navarre , William LeRoy were good with the delivery of the story. But as I have often said one narrator is enough unless the female reads the female dialogue and the male reds the male dialogue.
While this wasn't my favorite love story (I think I have been reading too many post sexual abuse relationships lately), it was definitely a good one. I loved Cole and Katie, though a bit aggravatingly stubborn, is a strong match for him. They have a good chemistry and I love their humorous banter. The villain makes me sick and want to punch him myself. As someone who works in the medical field, I also appreciate the research that the author put in for authenticity. Overall, it was an enjoyable story.
I enjoyed it. I personally struggled with the female narrator, if I'd read the book I'd have read it as a strong woman but the voice over sounded a little bit febble and continued in that vein so only 3 star performance.
It made me laugh and get a bit teary, I liked the story line, although physiotherapists are a lot more savvy about assessing the physical form, so being surprised he was so tall was a lot unbelievable. Over all just shy of a 4☆.
"Romance with a little action on the side."
Not too shabby. I like that the author mix a little action into the plot. Both narrators did a great job too!
The story was enticing and exciting with every other emotion thrown in. The performance was excellent and I completely fell in love with the characters as they came alive. Highly recommend!
