Publisher's summary

What has she done? With a new identity, a staged death, and a chance to flee the treachery that stalks her, Rachael has escaped from a faceless assassin. Now, thousands of miles from home, under the lush canopy of the rain forest, she's found sanctuary.

Where can she hide? In this world teeming with unusual creatures walks the most exotic of them all. His name is Rio. A native of the forest imbued with a fierce prowess, he is something to be desired. Possessed of secrets of his own, he is something to be feared.

Whom can she trust? As Rachael's past looms as oppressively as the heat of the forest, and as Rio unleashes the secret animal instincts that course through his blood, Rachael fears that her isolated haven has become an inescapable hell.

Narrator ruined the book

It was so difficult to listen to this narrator. Didn't they have a producer to review Renee's work. She is horrible. Good grief, she made the leading man sound mad and angry all the time. I would avoid any audiobooks with the narrator.

Liked the book, Hated the narration!

It's always so sad when the narrator makes a good book so painful to listen to. I'm with the other two reviewers here, Raudman makes Rio sound so hateful and angry that it makes listening to this book very difficult. She does Rachel well but that's about it, the tribesman sound like children and the basic narration is harsh in tone. Such a disappointment for a book I was so looking forward to. As we all know, it's amazing the difference the narrator makes to a book, take Feehan's Ghostwalker series, Tom Stechschutle takes those books from good to fabulous! I so wish he had narrated this one!

No connection with this story !!

Any additional comments?

I LOVED Christine Feehan;s Ghostwalker series so i didn't hesitate to sample this book... I tried 4 times to get into this story but I just couldn't stay focused. It was Soooo boring that i even wrote my shopping list while the book was playing. The narrator also bored me, her voice was awful. Sadly this story was not for me...

Great book, so-so narration.

This is one of my favorite Christine Feehan novels. I'm not too crazy about the narrator, but she does an okay job. I agree with the previous review--Rio always seemed angry; there didn't seem to be a lot of difference in his emotions. I do highly recommend the book, though, if you like the shapeshifter/romance genre.

ROAR!!!

This is a good Christine Feehan story, her Leopard series is a favorite. Renee Raudman is an awesome narrator. She doesn't just read the story, but she enacts and lives it. She characterizes the different protagonists with skill.

I enjoy female narrators with a deeper voice that Renee has. She pulls off dry sarcasm without sounding at all whiny. She also narrates the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews - which are also an awesome favorite!

Ok Story - Bad Narrator

The narrator did not help the character development. Seemed like Rio was always mad.

Wild Rain by Christine Feehan

Don't bother. This was the first book I've ever read/heard read by Christine Feehan and I don't think I will ever read any of her others after this. This should be categorized as a romance novel. Period. I can go for a little steamy sex just like most other people, but this was ridiculous! Every single second, another sex scene and most of them sounded the same. I kept saying to myself, and sometimes even out loud, "Come on! Get on with the story! Or,"Uh, oh, here we go again....how many times have I heard about his beautiful mouth...." I didn't even finish listening to the book. As for the reader, Renee Raudman is fantastic! I look for books read by her, that's how I found this author. I couldn't ask for a better reader and don't blame her for the content she had read.

It was alright

I struggled to finish...I read this book when I was younger and back then it seemed so much better but after listening to it I was trying to see what exactly I liked so much about it. it was ok it just seemed like something was missing for me but I did enjoy the narrator she did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life I would totally listen to her read another book.
