Stepping off the train in Sweetwater Springs, Montana, Elizabeth Hamilton is filled with relief, nerves, and the thrill of hope. Life on her dear friend’s ranch will be very different than Gilded Age Boston’s high society. But at least here, Elizabeth is far from her spiteful sister-in-law and the bittersweet memories of her late fiancé.
Nick Sanders has loved Elizabeth since he first glimpsed her portrait - not that he dare admit it. A ranch hand has no call to woo a well-born lady, especially when she’s being courted by the town’s finest gentleman. Yet there’s something in her mix of courage and compassion that won’t let Nick quit.
In Wild Montana Sky, Debra Holland’s acclaimed USA Today best-selling romance, Elizabeth faces the hardships and dangers of the West with resilience that surprises even her.

I'm a stay at home mom, even if she's 16 now. When I discovered Audible it was like discovering love :-) I love Audible. demonsangel
I absolutely loved this audio book. This was the first historical romance that I've read/listenened to since I was eleven years old. My mom wasn't a reader and never paid much attention to what I was reading. Looking back not all books I read were age appropriate but certainly not as bad as the majority of today's books. With Wild Montana Sky age isn't an issue. If my daughter was eleven and asked to read this book I wouldn't have any problems at all letting her
This book is clean, it wasn't filled with profanity, sex, or anything that you might consider vulgar. It was a very nice, clean story that is hard to find today. I don't have issues with sex and profanity in a story. The majority of books I read or listen to are filled with profanity and sex. I just find it extremely nice to find a clean book for once that's enjoyable. I do listen to clean books but they're all YA, rather teen books. Wild Montana Sky is not a teen book it's a book for older woman but it's so clean that teens can read it.
I loved listening to the story. I found myself in the 1800's, seeing how the people dress and live. Elizabeth is a woman living with her brother in Boston. For reasons, she decides to take an offer from a friend and move to Montana. Nick a gentleman was sent to ask Elizabeth to come stay with her friend Pamela and she tells him she'll go. She packs and Nick escorts her to her friends ranch in Montana.
Elizabeth grows so much living in Montana. She was somewhat a snobby person that comes from money. She had servants that took care of everything. Moving to Montana was hard at first but Debra shows the character develop into a strong woman and her strengths as she grows more in Montana.
Debra, the story was very good. The book was written with great character development, the characters are likeable, most anyway. The story is very believable because during that time life in Boston wold be different than life in Montana. It was an easy and enjoyable audio book. I envisioned myself there and I also found it to be a one of the most relaxing stories I've listened to in a long time. Thank you so much Debra for the enjoyment this story has brought me.It also took me back in time and that was a gift.
If you are a person that enjoys historical romances then this book is for you. Also, if you like a clean book without anything vulgar then this book is for you. There's no sex or profanity in this story. It's a nice, clean book that I enjoyed immensely and found to be a very relaxing read. I highly recommend this story.
Elizabeth Hamilton, a Boston socialite, lost her first love to illness and never embarked upon another serious relationship. She is content playing hostess for her brother Lawrence, who lived the life of a confirmed bachelor. However, while on a business trip to New York, Lawrence begins a whirlwind courtship with a young widow named Genia and they quickly marry. This surprise marriage is the beginning of Elizabeth’s troubles and leads her on the path of new opportunities.
Nick Sanders works as a ranch hand for Elizabeth’s best friend Pamela and her husband John. Nick is a simple man, who has his whole world turned upside down when sent to Boston to persuade Elizabeth to move to Montana. Nick’s attraction to Elizabeth is instantaneous but he has his work cut out for him because they come from two different worlds.
Wild Montana Sky is a sweet historical western romance. There is no sex between the main characters but that doesn’t detract from the romance or story. The storyline is strong and the characters are well developed. I loved watching Elizabeth grow from city girl to country woman. This transition also mimics Elizabeth’s growth as a person. I was very pleased with how Elizabeth discovered her true feelings for Nick and how she finally recognized Caleb’s shallowness. Wild Montana Sky is a wonderful love story and a great read for any fan of the historical western genre.
I have to admit, I enjoyed this book a lot. With Debra Holland's approach to storytelling, and Natalie Ross's amazing narration, you feel you're right along on all of the characters' journeys. There's friendships, love, choosing love, story twists and adventure. The narrator putting voices to each character brings them to life. Miss Holland's knack for painting a scene, character development and emotions keeps you engrossed in the story. And there's action and suspenseful moments that'll keep you intrigued. It'll leave you wanting more, but you'll be in luck. When finished, check out Starry Montana Sky, which retains this books locale and characters, but grows it with an even richer story and characters, and you get to live it through each one.
