Publisher's summary

Stepping off the train in Sweetwater Springs, Montana, Elizabeth Hamilton is filled with relief, nerves, and the thrill of hope. Life on her dear friend’s ranch will be very different than Gilded Age Boston’s high society. But at least here, Elizabeth is far from her spiteful sister-in-law and the bittersweet memories of her late fiancé.

Nick Sanders has loved Elizabeth since he first glimpsed her portrait - not that he dare admit it. A ranch hand has no call to woo a well-born lady, especially when she’s being courted by the town’s finest gentleman. Yet there’s something in her mix of courage and compassion that won’t let Nick quit.

In Wild Montana Sky, Debra Holland’s acclaimed USA Today best-selling romance, Elizabeth faces the hardships and dangers of the West with resilience that surprises even her.

What a great book

I just love how you can come from Money, servant's, and all the fine luxuries of life, and then you can humble yourself to a level far below you...sometime's you just have to be cut down a notch or two. this book will keep your interest until the end, then be sure to get the other 3 series..you won't be disappointed...

Wild Montana Sky by Debra Holland

Where does Wild Montana Sky rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Wild Montana Sky was the first audio book I've listened to so top of the list in experience.

What did you like best about this story?

The story was entertaining. Having Elizabeth's attitudes change about clothing, propriety and people over the course of her stay in Montana showed her growth and the allure of the west in those times.

Which scene was your favorite?

Well, I don't want to spoil anything but I'd say my favorite scene was between Caleb and Elizabeth at the end of the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Life Changes

Any additional comments?

A sweet western historical. From posh upper class Boston to the wilds of Montana, it's fun to notice how Elizabeth's attitude changes the longer she stays in Montana. From her thoughts about clothing to propriety, the west makes a real woman something more. One who can shoot and protect her family. This was my first audiobook. I liked it. I found myself walking around the block at lunch so I could hear more. Some of the dialog made me laugh that I probably wouldn't have noticed if I was reading it because of the old fashioned language. Thanks to Audible and the author for the free download. I will definitely be "hearing" more books.

Wonderful romance about a cowboy & an eastern lady

Where does Wild Montana Sky rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One the the top in my book. Totally loved this story and the narrator was wonderful.

Have you listened to any of Natalie Ross’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not but I sure will be, Natalie gave life to this story. Debra painted the pictures in the book with a lovely romance and Natalie painted the pictures in your mind as she told a wonderful tale of love. A wonderful voice with wonderful character voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes in fact when I got to the last 4 chapters I had to listen to the rest. I only listen when I drive or work around the home. When I got home from work I could not put this audio away.

Any additional comments?

I cannot wait to read or listen to more from the Montana Sky Series. Debra is a wonderful author that brings so much to her writing. She tells a tale of love, lost, pain why making you feel alive, warm as she warms your heart. You can feel the characters coming out of her stories, reaching out to take you in.

Debra writes a compelling story of hurt, pain as she takes you through Elizabeth life as her brother brings a wife home. What a shock that was, Elizabeth has always wanted a sister and prays they will be come close. She has a hard time with handing over her home to a new lady. With even a harder time when she finds out her new sister-in-law is a witch and wants her out or at the least to make her live as bad as she can. It will break your heart as the author takes you through a trying time for Elizabeth as that hateful woman makes her life a living hell. Elizabeth is single and her sister-in-law does not let her forget it. It doesn’t matter that Elizabeth lost the only man she loved when he got sick. As the story comes to light you really would like to reach out and slap that witch silly. Elizabeth writes to her best friend who moved to Montana when she got married. Her friend feels her pain and invites her out to her home in hopes she will stay.

In walks Nick who I loved, he is the warmest, sweetest man there is. He is my favorite character in this book although there were a few more I just fell in love with him. If he was real I feel sure my husband would have to do a lot of sweet talking so my eyes would not wonder. You are so going to love this man, it breaks your heart to see how much he has loved Elizabeth even before they ever met. He fell in love with her from a pictures and stories, when he meets her he falls all the way. He does his best to make her happy even if that man is not him he just wants her to have what she wants. Your heart will break for you as you watch him love from a far with no hopes of ever being the man of her dreams. How can such a fine lady such as her fall for a lonely old cowboy.

There are tons of characters you will fall in love with between the pages of this story. Some you won’t and a few you would like to slap around. The author paints a story that is so real that you forget you are reading or listening. You can’t wait to see what happens, you will smile, chuckle and fall in love with not only Montana but the people in this small town as you watch Elizabeth grow as a women and find her way to the true love of her life. This is a wonderful clean read that has passion, love, want and needs like you will never forget. This is one story that will stay with you even as you move on to other books. It is a book you will want to read or listen to over and over again.

Natalie Ross is a voice you can listen to over and over, you never get tired of hearing it. I can’t wait to listen to more audio’s from this narrator. Her many wonderful different voices will keep you entertained as she takes you through the life of these wonderful people. You will find you can’t wait to meet the next character and find out what voice you will fiind. She will keep you smiling and laughing. Between her and the author this was an OUTSTANDING book. This is one story you don’t want to miss. Pick up any of Debra’s book she is truly an amazing author, all of her book have kept me in chuckles as she writes a wonderful story and bring it to life.

Excellent Story!

This is a great sweet historical western romance read! Nick and Elizabeth's story! I highly recommend reading the prequel Beneath Montana's Sky first, so that all the characters fit in to place and you know their history. Natalie Ross also did a great job narrating the story!

A Man's Love Knows Limits

I really enjoyed this book. How can you not love a story where a man falls in love with a woman's picture and stories of her from her friends. Nick struggled with himself and the feelings he had for a woman many miles away. She wasn't only out of reach physically but socially, which caused his heart pain when her proximity changed but social status didn't. Elizabeth, due to a change in living arrangements and an unwelcoming sister-in-law sought the peace and solace of her friend in an unfamiliar land. Though rustic and lacking the customs she was raised with, her friends' home was appealing and so was the man who seemed to be everywhere she needed to him to be.
I liked the awareness between the Nick and Elizabeth. I enjoyed the way each new layer of their attraction to each other was revealed. Elizabeth's wariness and then openness to the changes of life on the ranch were believable. I enjoyed getting to know her and her secret heart desires.
Natalie Ross did a good job in adding depth to each character. Her narration kept my attention and urged me to listen a few more moments before pausing for the night.
This was great start to a new series.

Very fun and entertaining story!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Wild Montana Sky to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

It has just the right mix of characters you are cheering for and those you dislike. I really liked Elizebeth's slow change from Boston high society to Montana rancher. Wonderful!

Which character – as performed by Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

Elizebeth for sure but I also thought she did Jenia's horrid mother quite well too.

The fist installment to a sweeping series

If you could sum up Wild Montana Sky in three words, what would they be?

Love will win.

Which character – as performed by Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

I really liked the way Natalie performed Elizabeth.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes love comes from a picture.

Any additional comments?

Three is a crowd, but it really hurts when your brother brings home a new wife that you know nothing about only to be cast aside and ignored. High society lady, Elizabeth Hamilton is not sure what life will be like now that she is no longer the mistress of the house. When her best friend (Pamela Carter from Beneath Montana's Sky: A Montana Sky Novella Prequel) invites her to come to Montana for a visit, Elizabeth agrees and plans on staying.

Montana ranch hand, Nick Sanders lives with John and Pamela Carter on their ranch and is sent to get Elizabeth at the train station and bring her home. Nick has been enamored by a picture of Elizabeth that Pamela has displayed in the house and he finds that flesh and blood Elizabeth is, even more, lovelier.

Can these two very different people find the love that both so desperately are looking for or will other suitors, disease and the dangers of Montana stop what was started at the train station?

Debora Holland weaves a beautiful love story between two people who come from completely different lives. You feel like you are in Sweetwater Springs, Montana by the way Debora weaves her story. The characters are rich and the plot is beautiful. This is more of an "ensemble story" rather than just a love story of two great characters. This story is a wonderful stand-alone book but is enhanced more if you read the prequel novella, Beneath Montana's Sky. I enjoyed it very much. Cannot wait to read the others in this series.

The audible was given to me for review.

Nick Sanders is amazing!

After reading Beneath Montana Sky, I had no idea that the young boy featuring in that novel would be the hero in a future problem. it's so wonderful and refreshing to see a character grow up and move on to become the hero of his own story. while this is only the third romance novel I've ever read, this one is easily my favorite.

Nick and Elizabeth's story is well told with memorable moments and fully realized characters that I won't soon forget. after seeing him as a young boy and in earlier novel, I was overjoyed to see him as an adult falling in love. I feel like this book will always hold a special place in my heart, simply because the relationship and growth that the hero and heroine go through is extremely relatable and something that any romantic and my opinion would only dare to dream of.
